Kusatsu Onsen, Gunma, Day 1

Before heading to Tokyo station, we grabbed breakfast at the bakery in Aeon.

From Tokyo station, it was a long bus ride to Kusatsu Onsen. It was raining when we arrived and luckily, Hotel Ichii had free shuttle bus services from the bus station to the hotel. The lady at the information center called our hotel for us and the shuttle bus arrived in 5 mins.

Once we've checked in, we were brought to our room where we got to enjoy a nice cup of green tea, manjyu and senbei.

Mum and dad enjoying their tea. :D

This is how our room which was located in the main building looked like before they laid out our futons.

Outside the hotel~

The famous yubatake~

heehee.... :)

Bought ticket for the famous onsen show and had some time to spare before our show time.

So we explored around the area. That's our hotel in the background.

Found this cute little onsen tamago snack thing and we decided to give it a try.

It was yummy and I guess this is a good gift for people who have not tried onsen tamago before. They sell this in a nice gift pack. Each egg comes in it's own cup, with a pack of sauce and spoon.

Apparently were 1,156m above sea level.

Love this view~

If you're allergic to the smell of sulphur, this place might not be suitable for you.

Our ticket for the show, 600 yen for an adult.

The small performance area.

Part of the show where you listen to the ladies sing and splash the water around in order to cool it as how they would do it back in the days.

After the show, we headed back to the hotel's dining area for dinner. Never had such a fancy kaiseki before in my life. This is the appetiser plate that came with tofu and red wine.

Shabu-shabu platter~

The lady who served us very nicely offered to take a family photo for us. While we were dining in the restaurant, we had a very private area. No other customers were in our view.

Yuba and sashimi!

Part of our shabu-shabu~

My order of fish. Mum ordered the beef.

Maitake takekomi gohan with pickles and miso soup.

We also had a small bowl of cold pink noodles which I totally forgot to take a picture of.

And to end the meal, a dessert platter!

So happy to have such a grand and yummy meal with mummy and daddy~ <3
