Day in KL

Lunch in KL with H as we went to met up with the U crew. It was nice to meet up with everyone again. I can't believe that it was almost 18 months since the last time they had a show here.

Xmas deco at Pavillion, always stunningly beautiful~

After walking around Kl area, we went for tea at Ben's.

On top - macadamia caramel cheese cake, something that I've always enjoyed from Ben's and the one in the bottom - black forest cake.

Heart to heart talk about my problems where I teared. Really grateful to have a friend to listen to me and give me good advice.

Soon it was dinner time and we decided to share a pad thai. Not bad, but I prefer the one from Sanook at Sunway Pyramid.

Omaya, Subang Jaya

Second Xmas dinner at Omaya in Subang Jaya.

This seems like a famous restaurant as there were long queues outside and my friend had to make a reservation prior to this dinner.

This here is the cotton candy drink,

This is the first time I had something like these. It's interesting to see so many compartments on one plate~

Yummy chicken with melted cheese. I think this is my fav dish here~

A hot pot inspired dish. This was ok....the first 2 dishes were more interesting.

With the peeps that I used to dance with~ It was nice to catch up.

As this restaurant goes on a fixed timing system, we had to leave immediately after our meal and moved on to another location for our gift exchange.

We shifted to Cafe Benne in Sunway pyramid for some bingsu and to exchange our Xmas gifts.

Enjoyed the choc one a lot better than the strawberry one.

Our secret santa gifts <3

After that we went for a movie too.....

A nice night for catching up after a long time.

Green View Restaurant

SANG HAR MEE <3<3<3

I love the fresh and plump prawns, matched with the fried noodles that had soaked up the yummy brown sauce~ So good, but so expensive!

I like fried kai lan when it's done well, but this is too oily.

Fried man tou~ <3 come to mummy!

*dip dip dip the fried mantou in the sauce* Sweet sauce chilli crab~!!! This one here is the Indonesia mud crab~ fat and filled with flesh~ <3

I guess only in Malaysia, you see fruits served like this.....hahaha

It's amazing how a hot country like Malaysia has such a beautiful ice skating rink in the mall all year round. I had not seen one in Japan yet.

Village Park Nasi Lemak & Rekindle, Uptown Damansara

Finally got to try the famous Village Park Nasi Lemak at Uptown Damansara.

Crunchy fried chicken that's not dry, paired with the fragrant santan rice and sambal~!!! What's not to love about this dish?

It's common to pair the hot an spicy dish with a glass of cold and sweet rose syrup drink.....

After that we went for cakes at Rekindle. The chocolate cake that I ordered was good and not too sweet. I like how they display their cakes at rtp in a glass case.

My company for the day~

These here are two cute kit kat chocolate boxes that came with a small envelop at the back for money. I bought them at the post office near my house. I thought these would make cute little ang pao packets for mum and dad, compared to the traditional ones. Plus since Japanese celebrate new year on the first of January, I bought these with the intention of giving them to my parents for new year too since I won't be around for Cny.

Shinmapo, SS15 Courtyard

First meeting with H back in Kl and we got into an accident at the Mall's parking lot.......what a day~

But at least we had good food at Shimapo in SS15 Courtyard and had a good time catching up.

So much has change in 10 months. Even the mall has been newly rennovated and changed name!

We ordered a set that came with BBQ meat and an army stew. It was interesting as I've never had a bbq that came with egg that cooked on the side of the grill.

After that we had desserts at Cafe Benne.....

Haven't had bingsoo in a long time too hahaha...

Two shot~

Malaysia seem to have caught on the baked cheese tart craze. I love BAKE here in Japan but the ones from Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart was delicious too.

Tried both the original and the chocolate and I think I prefer the chocolate one due to the taste of cocoa.

When in Malaysia, you can get loads of yummy take out food such as this mee siam here.....yummy and cheap!

Then not forgetting I'm being fed by mummy too as I'm home now.....home-cooked green bean soup~

Dropped by to pass a gift to my ex-boss. Miss talking pass this view for lunch.

Eating Japan - Snack series 11

1. Family Mart Caramel Corn

Teiban.....can never go wrong with this.

2. Calbee Osatsu snack

This reminds me of keropok. The kind that mummy makes.....because mum makes them with japanese potato too. The only difference is that this is the purple kind. Lightm fluffy and crispy.

3. Mentai flavoured snack

Can't stop buying this everytime I walk into the convenient store!

4. Organic chestnut

Spotted this once in Lawson and bought this to try.....soooo good~!!!!

5. Meji Premium galbo

Probably one of my favourite chocolate~ <3

6. Pocky Almond Crush

This has been Dad and my favourite since I was in middle school~ We spend so much money on this snack!

7. Pocky Fuyu no kuchidoke

Best winter snack~ because it will never melt in the cold weather and the chocolate is not the hard kind but the soft and melt in your mouth kind.... <3

8. Kunomitsu kinako senbei snack

I've always loved this combination on ice cream and thought that I give the senbei a try. No regrets, really good!

9. Nestle Kitkat Pumpkin Pudding

I've always wondered what this would taste like and I've got to say I prefer the otona kit kat more,

The packaging is really cute though. Another reason why I bought this was because this could be baked and I've always wanted to try a baked kit kat but I am yet to try baking it.

10. Pringles Mushroom soup

Unfortunately, this has got to be the weirdest Pringles I've had. At first, I thought it tasted like vomit hahaha......

Sushi Zanmai

Some people might say why would you still want to eat sushi, aren't you bored?

To be honest, I probably eat more sushi in Malaysia than when I was in Japan. I usually cook at home to save money because eating out is sooo expensive. Plus, it's not like I eat sushi every time when I eat out. Unless it's to  good sushi place, most of the time when I do have one, it's from a supermarket.

Also, I miss all these fancy ones that I can get in Malaysia. I love soft-shell crab maki! The soft-shell crab itself isn't very common in Japan and definitely not used in sushi rolls in this way.

Sashimi salad with the special zanmai dressing which is essentially the carrot dressing here~

I've missed you, tamago mentai and sakura ebi inari~

While I've eaten lot's of fresh fish here, I miss these fancy ones that's topped with mayonnaise too.

Fried ika geso

After dinner, I went with seawitch to Saint Marc which is a popular chain restaurant in Japan.

We tried both their famous choco cro and their premium Chelsea choco cro. Both were delicious but I prefer the original one. This time when I'm back, I realised that many things that used to be only available in Japan were now available in Malaysia too.
