Flower Festival at Showa Kinen Park, Tachikawa

Mish, YH and I went to the Flower Festival at Showa Kinen Park in Tachikawa. The festival for 2016 runs from 17/03/16 to 22/05/16.

The park is huge as can be seen from this map that was located right at the entrance of the park.

There were many people.....in the outer park and in the inner park.

To get the inner gardens, we have to pay a small fee of 410yen. Depending on the date, the park opens and closes at different times. Plus there's free entry on certain public holidays.

Immediately, the beautiful flowers near the ticketing gate captures my attention.

I really like this park. It makes a really great dating spot. There's beautiful flowers everywhere, ample space for a picnic and there are many areas for various activities such as boat rides, cycling and BBQ.

Sakura was still in full bloom then~

Off we go to the Spring garden.

Just look at the bright orange colour~ ain't it pretty?

Love how bright all the different flowers were~

Where there's beautiful flowers, you bet there'll be many people taking pictures.

We were there for the tulips which seemed to be in full bloom when we were there.

There were so many different varieties~

I love all the natural colour combinations~

If only, I have a beautiful garden like this one here.

Lol.....look at how focused we are at snapping pictures of the flowers

Couldn't help but wefie along the way as we enjoyed the flowers

Poppies with sakura in the background~

Spring is truly my favourite season.

The flowers are all in full bloom~

Kinda resembles a new love blooming~

Hopefully next year, there will be a kareshi-san who's willing to revisit this park with me. Lol....

Poppies~

I really love the humongous sakura tree. Look at all the lovely couples underneath it!

I seriously need to get myself a mat next spring!

Nanohana~ aka rapeseed~

Seriously, wherever you look in this park, it's picture perfect!

hahaa....the scenery was too beautiful to not snap more pictures with it~

Searching for my future~

Enjoying spring while it lasts~

Night sakura at Sumida River

After dinner, we headed to Sumida River where we got to see beautiful yozakura and got a great view of Skytree.

Loving this view.........

The trees were at their full-bloom state when we were there and there were so many people enjoying their hanami under the trees.

Look at the crowd! Wish I could join them too~!

We were trying to get artistic shots of the Skytree hahaha

Look at all that sakura~ and the train that just happened to be passing by as I snapped this.

Soooo pretty~!!!!

After that, we stopped by 711 for some ice cream. This is the Haagen-Dazs Crunchy Crunch Green Tea Cumble which is a limited edition offer.

Everything limited edition is always good.

One bite of that and yea, it was super delicious! hahaha......kinda reminds me of the green tea pocky. I'm gonna buy more Haagen Dazs limited edition ice cream from now on.

After that, as we were heading back, I realised that I had lost my Pasmo card. Just my luck as I had just topped up another 6000yen to it at the station. There's a total of about 7000yen in it. We tried retracing our steps to find it but to no avail.

Remember my omikuji? Oh....how accurate it was! I only wished that other good parts of the omikuji were just as accurate.

Tokyo Midtown Yozakura

Was supposed to head to Ueno for night sakura but as it was already quite late in the evening, we decided to head to Roppongi instead as S called and found that they still had light ups even after 9pm.

The sakuras were stunning!!

I was super happy to see this view that even though it was drizzling, I wanted to go out for a walk.

I took this shot while I was doing a test shot to see if I should use flash to get a nice picture of myself with the sakura.

While I had a horrible model who couldn't keep his eyes open, I still managed to get a pretty decent shot.

But my photographer??? HORRIBLE TO THE MAX!!! Below are the 2 shots he took!

Could it be any worse that these 2? Lesson learnt! The next time I want to go and get a nice picture of myself, I'm gonna find a better camera person!

Well, at least the yozakura were beautiful~

After the night sakura, we stopped by Dean & Deluca at Roppongi Midtown Galleria building, where I got this Gorgonzola cheese quiche (620yen) which I thought was really special because I've not tried this before. This was really good when it was warm but I guess because of the cheese......the taste gets really salty near the end.

My small strawberry juice (450yen)~ which was really good! S said "ahh...jyoshi da ne!" Honestly, this heng dai really forgets that I'm a girl most of the time.

S' chamomile lemon tea (420yen)

The store at Roppongi is really small with only a few seats in the store and a few more seats outside. But because of the area it is in, it was definitely a very "atas" supper!
