Random office lunches

This was back in Feb when I just started in a new job environment. There was so much to learn and so much travelling. I didn't have time to cook anything and was hence, eating out a lot.

Random lunch at McD. I have it about once every 2-3 weeks as it's just very convenient to grab lunch there. There are many office worker and trying to grab lunch in a restaurant will require you to queue for a long time before you can enter. While McD usually have a queue of about 20-30 people, it moves really fast and there's usually a seat for dining in.

The burger above is their Tastsuta burger which gets reintroduced year during winter.

Walked to Natural Lawson to grab this salad on another day. I also had onigiri as this isn't enough. I was surprised that Natural Lawson had decent bento which I consider to be pretty healthy as most Japanese convenient store bento are not healthy! This here has a tofu meat patty with some grains, burdock salad, steamed pumpkin and veg. Very good for people who would like to cut down on carbs and take in more protein and fiber.

While queuing at McD, I realised that the queue at the udon shop nearby moved pretty quickly too and decided to give it a try one day. Here's my tasteless udon lunch. Lol~ The person forgot to add mendashi to my udon. But I had other condiments so I couldn't be bothered to return to the counter.

I went for lunch with my colleagues one day at a cafeteria from a local uni nearby. We had to walk super far to reach here but the food was super cheap! And there were healthy options too. I guess one of the perks of being a student is cheap food is easily accessible. While I liked it here, I haven't return yet as it is too far.

Lunch at a Chinese restaurant nearby. Food was not good, but it does come quickly and there's no queue. Another down side is that this is a smoking restaurant.

Wadakura Fountain park restaurant & Lindt Chocolat Cafe Ginza

Back in Marunouchi area.

Today, we came to grab buffet lunch at the Wadakura Fountain park restaurant (和田倉噴水公園レストラン).

They serve buffet lunch from 11:00a.m.~12:30p.m/1:00p.m.~2:30p.m. on weekends for 3,200yen.

You get a nice view of the Wadakura Fountain Park from the restaurant.

The food is good. You get a nice selection and I realised that this place has more seafood options compared to others.

They also have a live roast beef station.

Lol, I like that they had prawns in their salads and they have fried pop-corn prawn!

They also serve deserts, while the selection is very small, it's not too bad.

Exploring the Wadakura Fountain Park for the first time.

I have walked to somewhere near this park multiple times before but I have never visited it before.

As the weather was great, we managed to snap some very nice pictures.

After that, we went to hibiya park.

Nanohana was in full bloom and the bees were busy at work.

Lol, I suddenly spotted a large group of people in random motion and immediately knew that I had to take out my phone as it is POKEMON GO TIME!!!!

After Pokemon Go, we went to Lindt Chocolat Cafe Ginza (リンツ ショコラ カフェ 銀座店).

My first time at a Lindt Cafe. We were so lucky that we were there at just the right time where there's no queue as there is usually a very long queue outside.

We ordered 2 different chocolate cakes and they were both delicious. I do prefer the one above as the one below with raspberry had liquor in it.

Meanwhile, this macaron here is amazing!!!

The hot choclate was good too. Thick and chocolaty....might be to thick for some.

Random weekend eats

Random weekend eats~

This one here was taken at Hai Di Lao~ which is now my favourite hot pot place in Japan!

T

I know it's Chinese and not Japanese, but seriously....the flavours and ingredients that you can get there keeps you returning for more.

But this is definitely a place you need to reserve in advance if you do not want to queue and be prepared to pay more than what you normally would compared to the franchise all you can eat shabu-shabu restaurants.

Next, weekend lunch with Mish. We had no plans and thought that we could just randomly walk into the Italian nearby but there were full, so we thought that we could go to another Italian restaurant nearby and they were full too!

That's what happens when you do no plan in advance and make reservations. We ended up walking for more than 30mins before we found this little Spanish restaurant.

I had the seafood soup while Mish ordered the paella. Both were ok, but not amazing.

Feeling unsatisfied with lunch, we went to Royal Host for more food!

Had a super delicious mushroom nama pasta which was better than our expensive lunch. Lol~

We ended the meal with a delicous strawberry creme brulee parfait. Never look down on food served at Royal Host!

This one here was from a random weekday work lunch. I went on a business work trip with my colleague to Takasaki and grabbed lunch at the train station before boarding the shinkansen back. I had a cheap and yummy pork katsu.

Finally had the time to bake a banana bread after a long break. :)

CNY dinner

CNY dinner with Kiu at Paradise Dynasty.

We had the 8 flavoured xio long bao, which was ok. I still prefer the ones in DinTaiFung.

We ordered a deep fried pork loin with garlic, which was delicious.

I love this sauteed french bean with minced pork.

This deep-fried diced chicken in Szechuan style is the most flavourful dish of the night. Spicy!

We also ordered the drunken chicken which turned out a lot smaller than expected, but the flavour is pretty good.

I really enjoyed this la mian with prawn and pork dumplings in hot chilli vinaigrette. My favourite dish of the night. I think next time I will just order this when I visit.

We also had soem pan-fried pan cake with red bean paste which was delicious. Haven't had one in a long time.

Kiu also ordered a black sesame glutinous rice ball served in ginger soup.

Sushi~ with Mish

Weeknight dinner with Mish at Daiyu (大勇).

Our salad appetiser which got covered in katsuobushi.

Our grand looking nigiri sushi~ I absolutely love the uni!!!

We also had the chawan mushi which was comforting on a cold night.

This braised fish here was sweet and savoury.

Our favourite, the grilled seafood with cheese. Always smells and tastes super good.

And lastly, we ended the meal with some tamago :D
