Xmas date at T.Y.Harbor

For Xmas this year, we went to the place where we first met for dinner.

Shinagawa station was beautiful during Xmas.

For starters, we had this beautifully cooked prawns, in flavours that reminded us of home!

Also, as we were dining on the floating area outside, the view at night was amazing!

Next up was the Buddha bowl and  it was HUGE!

I think if you are there alone, the salad alone is enough to fill you up.

Next up was the classic fish and chips! Yummy~!
It was really good but at the same time super filling! I didn't even have room for dessert after that.

After that, we took a stroll back to the station.

I never knew that this place looks so pretty at night as it was my first time there at night.

X'mas dinner at Shinagawa

First time at Outback Steakhouse~

We came here on Xmas night and luckily J made a reservation because if not, we will definitely not be able to get in as Xmas is basically couple's night in Japan.

We ordered a salad, to make sure we have our greens.

The complimentary bread which was yummy!

I've always seen this and finally had the chance to try this kind of fried onion~!!!! It was delicious!

We shared this platter of steak and pork ribs which was good. I especially like the pork ribs.

Overall, the food and service here was really good. As it was Xmas, we also exchanged gifts. I came with a bottle of sparkling dessert vinegar and fruit jelly. In return, I received a cute corgi which I've been hugging to sleep~

T.Y.Harbor Shinagawa

I joined a friend's lunch gathering at T.Y.Harbor, which turned out to be a really nice place for food with huge groups.

I ordered a craft beer cocktail called  Cassis cranberry beer (950 yen) which consists of Pale ale, Cranberry and Cassis. It's my first time trying a craft beer cocktail and it was good while I don't usually drink beer.

We had the Kansas style BBQ pork spareribs with original pit sauce, Parmesan french fries and coleslaw. This is the full rack at 4,800 yen. The ribs here was really good. I would love to be back for more.

After lunch, we walked to Shinagawa station and from there to Roppongi. It was such a long walk that I had to rest while near Azabu Juban.

We stopped by a salad stop for some dinner. Here is the caesar chicken that I ordered. It was my first time at this kind of salad shop. It was interesting to see them slice up your salad. The salad itself it good and I can see that this place must be really popular with females during lunch. Don't under estimate this bowl here because it is actually very filling.

Shinagawa Aqua park

It was CNY~

YH and I decided to visit the Shinagawa Aqua Park because we both saw on facebook that they had a special theme called Snow Aquarium going on then.

Entrance fees - 1,350 yen

The Snow Aquarium theme was absolutely mesmerizing, especially the snow themed dolphin show.

This aquarium is cheaper compared to the Enoshima Aquarium and also smaller.

Even so, they had some interesting elements, such as the interactive touch panel boards that were available when we first entered, to provide us with information where the fishes are from and their habitats.

Look at these cute little fishes in their fish tanks that had been decorated with Xmas themed items.

:D

The beautiful section dedicated to jelly fish.

I feel that this is one of the most beautiful section in most aquariums that I have visited.

Stunningly beautiful~

I'm just floating around~

heehee~

Hello there, my friend!

At the aquarium, we managed to catch the seal and penguin feeding show~
A first for me and it was definitely interesting to see how smart they are.

There is also a huge glass tunnel where we get to enjoy viewing all sorts of fishing swimming above us. I particularly enjoyed looking at the stingrays.

There's this section where there were many tubes like these that were filled with fish skeletons. They looked pretty but I'm not sure these are natural of they've been treated with any chemicals to look this way.

An interesting looking fish.....looked almost like a piece of rock.

Doesn't he look happy?

As we entered the aquarium, there was a section where they took pictures for us for free and we'd receive a card like this with the picture on it. If we want a bigger version, we would have to pay for it, but we didn't want to buy one.

So this is all we got. It's still a good picture though.

Kura Sushi

Yh and I went for lunch at Kura Sushi in Shinagawa before heading to the Aquarium.

It was my first time at Kura sushi and even though it was already past 1pm, there were so many people queuing at the shop. Not to mention, there were those who have booked on line and arrived there when it was their time.

We waited for more than 30mins but we made it! Here are the first 5 plates of sushi that we had~

They not only have seafood on rice, they have yakiniku on rice too and they were surprisingly good.

The sushi were cheap at 100yen per plate for many of the plates.

We also found it fun because they had this gacha machine that we play with using the sushi plates. After every 5 plates, we get a chance at it. If we're lucky, we might get a prize. But unfortunately, we didn't manage to win anything.

Warabimochi and ice cream puff dessert~

Surprisingly good fried onion rings from a sushi store hahaa.....

Overall, it was good especially since the sushis were cheap.
