Goryōkaku Tower (五稜郭タワー)

After lunch, we drove to Goryōkaku Tower (五稜郭タワー).

I've wanted to visit this place ever since I first saw it on TV.

While sakura were in full bloom, the weather was horrible.....It was windy and drizzling the whole time. The sun was also hidden behind clouds. Hence, the pictures all have a grey tone to them.

That aside, we still enjoyed our time there.

Once indoors, we had to queue for about 25 mins to get on the elevator to go up the tower.

It was super packed inside but we manage to get some wefie.

That mountain covered behind the thick clouds is Hakodateyama which we planned to visit that night. Unfortunately, they had to close the ropeway because of the bad weather.

While you do have to pay to go up the tower, the view is amazing~! And we manage to find a nice spot for pictures. :D

Hanamaru Sushi (回転寿司 根室花) at Hakodate

At Hakodate, we grabbed lunchat Hanamaru Sushi at Kiralis Hakodate.

Love Hanamaru ever since I first tried it.

I like how the have a huge piece of neta on the shari~

As it was late lunch, we didn't have to queue so that was good~

As it was in the mall, we got to look at some local products in the mall too.

The weather wasn't good on that day as it was drizzling the whole day which made it really cold and misty.

Kaiten sushi are also good for when you are looking for vegetarian options. Most have vegetables served on shari too.

Road trip to Hakodate

After breakfast, we were on our way again.

Found the most kid friendly rest stop I've ever been to on our road trip to Hakodate. They have a huge area dedicated to a play area for the kids.

Shiroikoibito ice cream is pretty common here and we had to get some too!

We enjoyed the ice cream outside while admiring this view.

It's like a farm area.

Feeling carefree and enjoying the lovely weather.

Lol, we eventually got onto the grass.

heehee.....actually my aunt got on the grass first and we all followed suit.

Stopped by a small town with a small station called Onuma Koen Station.

We only stopped by for a toilet break but there was this souvenir shop that had a really long queue from tour buses and they were selling mochi. Not sure if mochi is popular here but everyone of the tourists bought mochi.

Dormy Inn Higashi Muroran Natural Hot Spring

Booked the standard double, non-smoking room in Dormy Inn Higashi Muroran Natural Hot Spring.

Not sure if the place was newly renovated, but our rooms looked new and I love the design of it.

Once you enter through the door, you have an open closet, followed by the sink area.

It's the first time that I've seen the sink area outside of the toilet/bathroom area and on the total opposite side like this.

The between the study table and the sink area, there's a sliding door which could be used to separate the sleeping area from the sink/bathroom area.

The bed was standard.

This is the shower area which didn't come with a bathtub.

Here is the washlet, right outside of the shower room.

At night, we went for onsen and after that chilled for a bit at the shared space which served free ramen to all the guests from 9.30pm to 11pm.

This was actually a very nice touch as I've never stayed in a hotel which offered this service before. But this is a good service as I'm usually hungry after onsen.

Breakfast buffet was served from 6.30am to 9.30am.

There was a huge selection! They had more variety than most business hotels I've stayed at. I was super impressed with the variety and taste.

Overall, we had a very good stay at this hotel. The rooms and food exceeded the expectations that I had when I first booked it.

伊達和さび 室蘭店 & Muroran night view

After checking into our hotel at Muroran, we walked to a neary sushi restaurant -伊達和さび 室蘭店 for dinner.

Colour of the plates represent their price.

First time seeing a maitake sushi.

Had some yummy sweet potato.

Can't miss out on the kani sushi while in Hokkaido.

Unagi with wasabi was yummy.

Tobiko~

Kani with kanimiso....kanimiso looks disgusting but tastes amazing~!

Overall, everything was delicious.

As I had predicted, the place will be full fast so we arrived early. Even though we arrived before 6pm, we still had to wait for a seat.

I like that the seats here is comfortable and the food is good!

It was my first time trying this sushi shop as there is no franchise in Tokyo.

Ordered a braised fish head too as it seemed like this was one of the specialty here.

Recommend Wasabi when you're in Muroran.

Our bill came up to 3930 yen which was ok.

After that, we collected our car from the hotel car park and went for a night drive.

Interesting looking tower on the way to the viewing point.

This is Shukuzu Park 祝津公園, which is a popular night viewing spot in Muroran.

After we got back to the hotel, we walked to a nearby convenient store and bought some desserts.

I had the Uchi Cafe X Godiva collaboation chocolate cake which was good.
