Work lunches

More weekday work lunches:

Grabbed lunch with my colleagues at this cute little cafe that seats about 8 people. They served bread with salad and tea, which looks really good but not enough for a work day lunch for me as I got hungry pretty quickly.

Bought this saba bento from the uncle who sells bento nearby. Simple and cheap.

Shinkansen lunch. I had to travel to Yamagata to meet a client and as the journey was long, I bought a tonkatsu bento for the journey.

My favourite lunch place is this Indian restaurant that serves Indian lunch buffet.

They serve hot naan with some 3 different curries, salad, chicken and rice.

Today, J joined me as he had the day off.

Last one here is a ramen lunch at Ramen Kagetsu Arashi.

They have lots of sauces on the table for you if you need to spice up your ramen. I prefer thin ramen noodles more and hence, I didn't really enjoy this ramen due to the thick noodles and oily soup.

Buffet Sky Restaurant & Kameidotenjin (亀戸天神社)

We went to Tsukiji market with hopes to get some ebi ramen but unfortunately, the shop was not open.

So we walked to Ginza to get lunch at the Buffet Sky restaurant instead.

Along the way, we got some daifuku and matcha ice cream.

This is probably one of my fav. buffet restaurants here in Tokyo. Their choices and selection is small but the taste is good. Every now and then they change up the main dish and dessert selection.

This time, the main was a chicken pie and for the hot food section, they served rice cooked with anchovies and prawns. There was also stir-fried clams which were delicious.

This time, mango was in season and hence, there were some mango themed desserts.

I like that everything here is tiny, so you get to try everything.

The lobby area also gives you a nice view of the city.

After lunch, we went to 亀戸天神社 (Kameido tenjin) with hopes to check out the wisteria.

Unfortunately, we were a little too late as you can see, there were only a little left.

Kameidotenjin is a really nice Shinto shrine.

I've always wanted to visit during the wisteria season but never had the chance as the season is over by the time I want to visit.

From there, you get a nice view of the sky tree too.

J got some really nice shots for me there too~

The weather was definitely getting warm.

Despite the fact that there were only a little wisteria left, the place still looked pretty.

I assume that this is a very popular tourist spot as there were these photo spots located at several areas around the shrine.

There are stands set up for you to place your phone on top, so that you can take a picture of yourselves.

Here are some examples. I thought that they turned out amazing! So great to finally have some shots of the 2 of us that is not just of our heads. Lol~

Ginza Koukian (銀座 香季庵)

Weekend date time and we went to this place in Ginza called Ginza Koukian (銀座 香季庵).

The Japanese course lunch with 10 dishes costs 2,800yen.

The first 4 appetisers.

This tomato jelly is super delicious~ Even though I'm not a fan to tamato, I love this!

Interesting salad with some crunchy seaweed on top.

Fried fish was delicious.

The steak was a bit too raw for me, so I didn't really enjoy it.

Clams cooked with rice.

This is a very typical Japanese course, whereby the carbs come last.

The meal ended with some warabimochi and hot tea.

Later in the afternoon, I had these 2 as my snacks. These were from the Hokkaido trip and they were super delicious~

Highly recommend these 2 chocolate from LeTao. I prefer this compared to their famous cheese cake.

Ramen Shingen (らーめん 信玄) for our last dinner in Hokkaido

For dinner, we visited another famous ramen restaurant in Hokkaido -
Ramen Shingen (らーめん 信玄) .

There was quite a long queue when we arrived of about 15 ppl outside and there's also another line of about 10 ppl inside.

Overall, the ramen is not too bad. The soup is tonkotsu based and is delicious. While the noodle is the thin, I was hoping that they would be the straight kind that I like but these were the wavy ones.

After that we had a short walked around the area and came across a temple nearby. By this time, the dark clouds were finally clearing and the sun was out!

The next morning, we took an early flight back to Tokyo. We managed to grab lunch with SW too who was flying off that night back to KL.

We grabbed lunch near Tokyo station at a teishoku restaurant.

Food here is not bad and decently priced.

Wefie~
