Toritsune Shizendo (鳥つね 自然洞) & Yushima Tenjin Shrine (湯島天満宮)

Today, we came to Akihabara because J wanted to get a new phone. After buying his phone, we went to Toritsune Shizendo (鳥つね 自然洞) for lunch. This place has been on my google map as one of the restaurants that I really want to visit because of it's high ratings on oyakodon.

Their simple menu.

This is the tokujyo oyakodon set that J got. This costs 3,100 JPY and comes with a chicken salad and tori shinjyo, which is like a fried minced chicken meatball. This was really special as I have never seen this dish before and it was delicious.

The oyakodon itself was also yummy. I just got the normal tokujyo oyakodon for 1,800 JPY.

After lunch, we walked to Yushima Tenjin Shrine (湯島天満宮) to enjoy the peach blossoms.

There were many people and hence, hard to grab a nice shot alone without masks. This place is famous for their peach blossoms and there is a festival here every year during this time.

Shinasobatanakasekando (志奈そば 田なか セカンド), Akihabara

I haven't been to Akihabara in a very long time.

If it wasn't for Y san who invited me here for ramen, who knows when would be the next time I visit Akihabara.

We visited this ramen shop called Shinasobatanakasekando (志奈そば 田なか セカンド)

Along the way, we passed by this interesting looking anime shrine.

We went all the way there for this special salt based soup ramen.
This is their popular item and they only serve 30 servings of this a day.

While it looks plain, the soup s actually very flavourful and you can request for toppings to go along with your ramen, which I didn't because I just want to enjoy the soup as it is.

The soup was filled with umami flavours from the shrimp, abalone and escargot that were used in preparing the broth.

As you can see, this little ramen shop is pretty popular.

スペインバル バル Akihabara

Met up with H san and Mish for dinner after work on a Friday night at スペインバル バル at Chomp Chomp Akihabara.

No, the beer is not mine, I ordered an orange juice. heehee....

Apparently their osusume menu changes every month and when we were there, it was this~

This is the fish and paprika ahijo (780 yen). A first for me and absolutely delicious~!!! :D Though we're not sure why they only gave us one baguette when there were 3 of us!

This here is the korean-inspired pizza with gochujang mayo (780 yen). Interesting flavours and while we did not taste the gochujang, it was delicious!

Their no.1 dish - seafood paella (980 yen). This was ok, not as great as I imagined it to be~

Prawn and broccoli ahijo (680 yen). This time we requested for additional baguettes!

Braised beef tendon (680 yen). Another first for me....while the flavours were interesting and good, I didn't really enjoy the texture of the dish.

Overall, it was a pretty good experience for me....first time having tapas~ Next time, I'll probably make a reservation first as I didn't enjoy sitting on high chairs.

Royal Host, Akihabara

Second dinner at Royal Host with S after our first mini one at the sushi shop.

I spotted this and was decided to get it in hopes that it will fill my tummy slightly while I wait for my dessert which was......

...THIS!!!

To my dismay, the Gratin onion soup (540yen) was really tiny. Just look at its size in comparison to the spoon.

And it definitely looks different from the picture in the menu......

While I was disappointed, luckily the taste wasn't too bad.

S's omurice which looked yummy and taste good too!

Finally, my dessert!!!! Strawberry brulee parfait (810yen) hehehe.....super happy that this turned out looking exactly like the picture in the menu.

Gotta have one picture with it too~!! :)

The creme brulee on top was amazing, the strawberries were sweet and the cream was light!!!

Sushi at Akihabara

Walked into a random kaiten sushi shop with S and here are some sushi plates that we had.

Prawns <3 Super delicious~

tuna mayo

salmon

tuna

tuna tataki

The tiny shop, with the sushi chefs sandwiched in between the sushi belt.

hmm...not too sure what this was, but it was good too.

Anago~

Was really happy to get sushi at that moment because it was my first kaiten sushi since I moved to Tokyo! And I was really craving for some~

We could've eaten a lot more but because we were both super hungry and needed some hot food, we went to another restaurant after this.
