Tokyo Gyoza

Kyobash seems like a pretty nice area to work in. The buildings all look fairly new and there are several interesting restaurants in the area.

Today we stopped by Tokyo Ginza in Edo Grand for some gyozas and it was interesting to try variations of gyozas which I've never seen before.

Like the one on top which was wrapped in some tofu and this one here that's topped with some spicy chilli sauce which provided quite a kick.

But my favourite is still this pan fried version. I like the slightly burnt flavour from the base with the juicy fillings. Overall the gyozas here are slightly more expensive that usual but you do get to try something different.

First DIY session

Back at Soranoiro for ramen again.

I noticed that the building has changed their displays to Mickey themed this time round.

It was interesting to see the different variations of Mickey from when Mickey was first designed to the form that we are used to now.

This time round, I didn't order the usual kinoko ramen. Since they've changed their theme to spice theme, I ordered one of their spiced ramen. It was definitely interesting. The are definitely many spices in the soup but it wasn't what I was familiar with. It was an interesting change from the usual for me.

After lunch, Yh and I walked to Ginza.

After window shopping, we got hungry and went yum cha at Din Tai Fung~ just a small tea break as I only had this plate of pan fried carrot cake.

After that we went to Kiwa Seisakujo to buy some stuffs for making DIY earrings.

There's a cafe by the shop where you can use their basic tools for free with the purchase of a drink. We did just that and this was good for me as I didn't have any tools at home.

The experience was eye opening for me and I discovered that I really enjoy making my own earrings! :D

Food escapades with Chong

Chong came to grab lunch with me again near my office.

We went to this cafe in a hotel nearby where they served lunch mains with all you can eat sides like the ones above.

Chong ate the pork cutlet curry while I had the Indian style chicken curry.

The main was good but I think I enjoyed the various appetisers more! I can't get enough of them!

I just had to bring Chong to try Sora no iro's kinoko ramen.

In the 2 months that I've not been here, I didn't know that they've changed their decor and they no longer served free bean sprouts :(

heehee.....posing with the bib.

Feeling Unwell

Wasn't feeling well on this day but I figured that there's no point staying at home on a 3 day weekend so I went out and met up with the girls at my fav. ramen place.

At least when you have food that you like, you feel a little better.

After that, we went to a nearby mall to chill and we were lucky enough to catch this piano and violin live performance. :)

Interesting t-shirt for those who love sake.

Before heading home, I went to grab some soup at Tokyo soup stock. Soups are like the perfect comfort food~!!! But you will feel hungry very fast after this meal!

Sora no iro, Edogrand, Kayabacho

I've been interested in  ソラノイロ (Soranoiro) ever since I first visited their Tokyo station branch last year.

One fine day, as I was passing by Edogrand Kyobashi, I came across their newly opened branch there which had a different menu from the Tokyo station branch and became interested in it.

The Edogrand building itself is grand and beautiful. There are lots of chairs for people to sit on and there are a few interesting restaurants on the lower ground floor.

Have a look at the menu here.

Yh ordered the chicken skin side dish as she loves chicken skin.

This here is our kinoko vege ramen which costs 920yen. I absolutely love the flavours of the soup because it's sooo good! I guess it's a chicken based soup with a strong kinoko flavour to it. The soba itself was good and so were the toppings. The chicken was moist and that cheese just adds an extra burst of flavour to the overall dish.

After dinner, we went to the Starbucks nearby for some desserts. Love the green tea pound cake here~ This must've been my first Starbucks trip ever since I moved to Tokyo.
