Satoyama Garden (里山ガーデン)

Saw this place in a leaflet I received and it just looked so beautiful that I had to come and see it for myself.

We were there a before the main area opened, so we just stood around and got some pictures there.

But the area outside is already super pretty!!!

This is the main garden area and as we were early, we managed to snap some pictures with no one in the background.

We were really lucky that the weather was good that day too or else it would be sad as we had to travel a long way and hiked up a small hill to get to here.

We also got a very nice spot to lay out our mat for the picnic!

I will definitely wanna come back for a picnic again next year because it is less crowded here and the view is amazing.

Our pre-packed meals. Ham and chicken sandwiches, melon, pasta in genovese sauce and strawberries. We have another pack of sandwiches, melon and pasta in the cooler bag lol~ cuz all these just aren't enough. We also have potato chips and drinks from the konbini.

Look at these beautiful flowers~

They even have this bridge area that allow you to enjoy the view of the tall bamboo trees.

Once we stepped back into the outer area, there was a live jazz band! And we sat down to enjoy a song before we left.

Spring day at Yokohama Bay

Walked around the Yokohama Bay area trying to digest some of the cakes of the heavy afternoon tea that we just had.

As it was such a beautiful spring day, I couldn't help but took a lot of pictures.

The sky was clear blue and so was the sea.

The background in Yokohama is always lovely~

The somei yoshino cherry blossoms were in full bloom!

So were the other flowers~

Even this tree here, which have bloomed earlier and is mostly green now......still looks lovely~

As there were't many people taking pictures of trees like this with lots of green leaves on them, we could take our own sweet time while snapping these pictures.

Well, before a little kid decided to join us!

Yokohama is such a beautiful city to visit during spring. You get a nice mix of nature with the beauty of modern buildings in the background.

Lol, I found another tree with lots of green leaves!

This one here has more white than green, but no matter the amount of green, they still look beautiful.

Hopefully I'll get to see such beautiful blooms in 2020 too.

Naka-meguro Sakura

Day out at Naka-meguro for sakura~

Unfortunately, we were a bit too early for the sakura this year.

While the sakura were not in full bloom yet, it was still nice to walk along the river to enjoy the view. Even the little pigeon here is enjoying the view.

We stopped by Cheese cake Johann for some cheese cake.

We grabbed the original and blueberry which were both delicious. The only down side was that there were no proper places for us to sit down to enjoy the cakes.

After that, we took a long stroll to Shibuya and found some other pretty flowers along the way.

We went to the Manhattan Fish Market for fish and chips!

We ordered a huge platter but as we were hungry we swallowed everything!!!

Later in the night, we had some home made lasagna~ which were delicious!

Miura Kaigan Sakura Part 2

After sakura viewing, we went to grab lunch at my favourite kaiten sushi in Japan - Sushi Ro!

This was their seasonal fried tuna ramen which was good.

The creamy creamy seafood croquette was ok. But I guess for the price, they can't pack too much seafood in it.

I got a hotate ramen which was delicious.

Ebi furai sushi is always good.

J got coffee and I got the tobikko lol.

The lightly torched hotate was delicious. This plate here allows you to compare the torched one to the raw one. Juicy and sweet~

One thing that I really like about Sushi Ro is that they change their seasonal menu frequently. So you always get to try new things there.

This kabhocha tempura is a must order every single time I visit!

Fried squid~

For dessert, they had this fondant chocolate which was really good actually for the price that you pay.

After lunch, we slowly made our way back to the station and we passed by a beach along the way.

Love the clear blue sky during winter.

Even though it was cold, it feels nice to just get some sea breeze.

Near the station, we spotted a stall selling locally produced vegetables and we decided to buy some.

They had this red daikon which I have never seen before. I was really tempted to get it but decided not to because I was already getting the miura daikon which was HUGE!

I've never seen a daikon that's that fat before, I had to pose with it with the sakuras too.

Bye-bye Miura-kaigan, you had been beautiful and fun!

Once home, I immediately made good use of the daikon for oden and salad. Look at it's width!!!

I made 2 pots of oden and I still had extra!
