Dessert month!

I bought so many desserts to try in December that I loss count how many.

This here is the carrot cake from City Bakery, which is pretty yummy. I think I will definitely repeat this.

Not a dessert but I received this from my company in the mail.
When I first saw the description, it was stated "chilli bottle" and I thought why would anyone send me a chilli bottle. Only, when I opened it, did I realise that it was a Chilly's bottle, that is like a Thermos.

Maron Cake from the City Bakery and this was good too, but not as good as the carrot cake.

One last one from the City Bakery and it is this box cheese cake!

I enjoyed the soft cheese cake with the crumble on top. I will definitely repeat this too.

There were also some interesting desserts being sold in the konbini such as this Godiva roll cake ice cream.

While it looked amazing in the picture, the actual product was not as pretty and the taste was not as chocolaty as I expected. Lol, and I bought 2 because I expected it to be super good.

Next here is a caramel terrine from the konibni and again, this was not as good as I expected. I probably won't buy this again if they release this again the next year.

Lastly, another konbini goodie, the Godiva creme brulee, which is an ice cream. This is not bad and goes well with a chocolate brownie. The top is crunchy and the vanilla ice cream is creamy, hence goes really well with a chocolate brownie.

THE CITY BAKERY BRASSERIE RUBIN

Back at the THE CITY BAKERY BRASSERIE RUBIN again!

Had a super good experience the first time, we revisited again in less than a month.

We ordered a soup this time to go with the bread and omg, the soup is soo good! Highly recommend you to get the soup each time!

This visit, I ordered the lasagna which was super good and also went really well with the bread served.

J had the grilled chicken which was surprisingly good and very juicy. The chicken was served with lots of  nuts. I love the soft juicy chicken with the crunchy nuts.

Then we also had a chocolate cake for dessert.
Honestly, everything served here is good!

After that we shopped around a bit, and spotted a shop selling My Kuali Penang White curry mee. Immediately bought 2! While it is expensive here, I miss the taste.

Xmas in Minato Mirai

Spending Xmas in Minato Mirai.

Every year, during Xmas, they have every nice illuminations.

I really like these blue lights. I think I will be back again this year for more photos.

This year, there was this dome shaped thing, which was not there the year before. This is the first time I am seeing this and there were many ppl queueing to enter. As there were man ppl, we avoided going too near.

Not too sure what is the idea behind these illuminations.

This year, the Xmas market is back. We only walked by and did not buy any food as we did not feel comfortable to eat there.

That night, we had Mexican food for dinner. Not sure if it is just me, but I feel that Mexican food in Japan is pretty pricey.

My favourite, is this fried calamari!

We also ordered fajitas. Here is ours being flamed!

Overall, the fajitas are yummy, but I really enjoyed the calamari.

Autumn in Shibuya

Early in the morning, we decided to drop by Aoyama before going to Shibuya for lunch.

As there weren't many people there, we were able to snap some nice pictures.

While many leaves have fallen, the scenery was still beautful.

After that, we headed to Shibuya Scramble Square for lunch with friends at La Coquina cerveceria.

We had a nice corner seat that overlooks the entre restaurant.

First up were some ham, marinated sardines and tomato salad. The marinated sardines were surprisingly very good.

Next up, garlic toasts with prawn and mushroom ajillo. I love garlic toasts with prawn ajillo! This did not disappoint as it was full of flavours!

This squid and potato dish here has got to be the best dish of the day! The squid was soft and went so well with the flavourful sauce. I wished that there were more!

And lastly we had clams cooked in vine and iberico pork paella.

We ate everything as all the food was yummy.

After lunch, we stopped by ocha room ashita ITOEN for some desserts.

I ordered a green tea and houjicha ice cream parfait while J ordered the seasonal maron tea.

SW had the green tea pudding.

And Nat ordered the seasonal cold maron tea.

It was nice to still able to catch up with friends during this pandemic.

THE CITY BAKERY BRASSERIE RUBIN

Visiting the THE CITY BAKERY BRASSERIE RUBIN for the first time.

As we were there late, we had to queue a bit before we got a seat.

After ordering, we were served some bread, which were all really good btw. These bread goes so well with the spare rib grill (1,815 JPY) that I ordered. I enjoyed dipping the bread into the mashed potato and sauce.

J had the chicken biryani (1,760 JPY). This was surprisingly delicious. We never expected to find biryani in a bakery restaurant and one that was delicious. We were pleasantly surprised by how good it was.

I expect that I will be revisiting this place often as the food was good.

After shopping around Yokohama, we found ourselves at Din Tai Fung for earl dinner.

As usual, we had the pan fried raddish cake and spicy wontons, which are 2 of my favourite dishes there.

Caravaan Tokyo

Visiting Caravaan Tokyo again!

As their afternoon tea set was too good, I brought J here.

J had their lunch set which comes with a sprout salad and a plate of different hummus with pita bread. The different types of hummus were sooo good! I absolutely enjoyed the paprika one.

I had the hibiscus tea again, which is slightly tart, but goes so well with the sweet deserts.

J's lunch set, which came with briyani!

There are 6 different dishes, which included a chicken skewer. There is also a chicken curry, which is not pictured here. The spices were on spot and went so well with rice.

Finally, the falafel that I had ordered arrived. I really like this and recommend this with the afternoon tea set.

Greek yoghurt with nuts and scones. :)

The amazing afternoon tea seat!

This hanamitsu stollen is hot, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

Dates and cacao cake. This was rich and delicious.

Maron flavoured ice cream which was rich and creamy.

Berry and rose vegan mousse. This is a tart and tangy mousse. But it is refreshing when you want to taste something different.

Baklava which is sweet but so good!

Carrot and walnut cake is one of my favourite because the cake is super light.

Another favourite is this arabian cheesecake which is rich is flavour and has an interesting crunchy texture thanks to the thin strands on the cheesecake.

Everything from the lunch set to the afternoon tea was amazing. I can't wait to revisit again!
