Random meals

Sushi Ro again after another movie date~

Love Sushi Ro so much because they have such a big menu and a special seasonal menu that changes frequently so you get to try lots of different things!

Wished that I live near one.

I'm so happy that I bought my yakiniku hot plate because now I can easily have yakiniku at home too! While it was pricey, it was definitely a good purchase! :D

Yummy eclairs from Hikarie for desserts after dinner~!!! Soo goood! I especially enjoyed the chestnut one.

Lunch at Intersect by Lexus Tokyo

Arrived early in the morning for a stroll around the area before grabbing lunch at Intersect by Lexus Tokyo, which is located at Minamiaoyama.

Found an area with very nice bamboo trees right outside the Nezu Museum, which I've not entered before.

We both ordered their lunch teishoku which starts from 1100 yen.

This here is the vegetable tempura teishoku. The tempura were fried beautifully and came with a delicious sauce.

Meanwhile, I had the fish teishoku which was also lovely. Though I felt that the portion was a little too small for my appetite.

But I guess that leaves us room for some desserts, which is why we got this super delicious pumpkin pudding. Love this soo much~

I love how they presented their food and the table ware that they used. But overall, it's not very comfortable to sit on a big round table with other people that you don't know while you try to enjoy your meal.

Day out in Shin-yuigaoka

Movie date day at Shin-yurigaoka~

On the way day, we had to transfer at Machida station and we got some goodies along the way.

Delicious baked quiche from La Quiche (ラ キッシュ) at Marui.

We also got a yummy maple waffle from Mr. Waffle~ While it was good, I wished that the maple flavour would be stronger.

There are many stalls at Marui selling food that you can buy and eat on the go, but they don't have enough seating area for people to sit down and enjoy the food. They had a small seating area inside and it was packed with people.

Once we arrived at Shin-Yurigaoka, we went to Jins to try on some glasses. I like this store here by the station as there aren't that many people here.

After that, we went for lunch at a bakery in Aeon which served pasta and cakes.

The carbonara was very mild in terms of flavour.

Meanwhile, the mandarin orange tart was super delicious! I love how they literally have like whole tiny mandarin oranges on the tart. The tart base was layered with some custard before the placing on the oranges, blueberries and covering everything in a layer of sugar syrup.

And finally~ the main purpose of this trip- to catch a movie at the Aeon Cinema! Most cinemas in the city area aren't attached to a big mall. But those further away are and you can pretty much shop, dine and watch movie under the same roof.

Eating Japan - Snack series 23

1. Karamucho Hot Chilli

This is probably the spiciest snack you can find easily in Japan. This is their special 55 year anniversary version and it came in this huge 200g bag. I'm not complaining as I crave spicy chips every now and then.

2. Gupputa Bitter chocolate

This is sort of like a low calorie snack which is suitable for those on a diet as each pack only has 52 calories. Bought this to try as ti came in a flavour that I like. The biscuits are ok....not something you would crave for.

3. Tohato caramel corn in almond caramel

Probably one of the more famous snacks from Japan, even outside of Japan. This can be easily found in any supermarket or Daiso. The sweet corn snacks are good and a flavour that children will like. Every now and then, they come up with a seasonal flavour like this.

4. Dr. You

Not a Japanese snack! I bought this when I was in Korea and I love this!!! Will definitely be getting more the next time I visit! I love the combination of chocolate with nuts.

5. Muji assorted baked confectionery

Overall the flavour is not bad as with most Muji snacks. These are really convenient as they're individually packed so you can conveniently carry some in your bag. Plus they come in 2 flavours so you won't get bored of the same taste.

6. Muji matcha chocolate coated strawberry

Freeze fried strawberries covered in chocolate always makes for a good snack! The strawberries are slightly sour but goes well with the sweet matcha chocolate.

7. Muji chocolate coated strawberry

This is better for those who prefer less sweet chocolate.

8. Muji Pretzel anchovy and garlic

Super flavourful! Love these. I think they make a perfect beer snack.

9. Calbee giza giza chicken consomme

Good for those who prefer thicker chips.

10. Emitas cream cheese cake

I think this is more like tart than a cake but nonetheless, this was delicious and perfect for a lunch bento dessert.

Vegetable Restaurant Saito (野菜レストランさいとう)

Met up with Tochigi-san for lunch at Vegetable Restaurant Saito (野菜レストランさいとう).

We went for the 2,300yen Yorokobi course.

The course came with bread (which were made by the the restaurant as they sell bread too), salad, soup, main dish and dessert.

The soup was a creamy vegetable soup. Yummy but the portion was small.

I had the fish main dish and as you can see form this picture here, it was very small.

Lastly, was the desserts which was also small. We did had 3 different yummy selection though, which was nice.

Then there's also coffee or tea to go with out desserts.

Honestly, while the food was delicious. The portion was just too small for me.....

Rio Grande Grill Ebisu

Lunching with Kiu at Rio Grande Grill Ebisu.

Their selection of appetizers and salads.

We got a really nice view of the outside from out seat.

My plate of salad~

I saw that they had some soup and decided to try it too. Can't remember what it's called but it's like a bean soup.

They have a wide selection of churrasco which they will bring to your table one by one.

Based on these pictures, I can't remember which piece of meat is what but they have beef, spare rib, pork, chicken, lamb, prawns and pineapple.

No picture of the prawn here as it was one of the last to come out and I was too busy eating by that time. My favourite were the prawns and the pineapple. Who would have guessed that grilled pineapple would be so yummy!

Overall, all they meat will come around once and at the end, they'll ask you which meat would you like more of and bring it over for you.

Indian lunch

I searched on Google and found that there was an Indian restaurant some 10 mins walk away that served really good briyani rice. Even though it was 10 mins away, I knew I had to go and try it!

Here's the menu. They serve lunch buffet too.

I ordered the chicken briyani which came with a salad.

The briyani was delicious~!!!! I was super happy when I first tasted it and found that it was the flavour that I was looking for!

The dhaal and onion raita was also good and went well with the briyani.

Only problem for me was that the serving was big and as I did't want to waste anything. I swallowed everything that was on my plate.

First overnight work trip - Osaka Tokyu Rei Hotel

Had my first overnight work trip in Osaka.

We had to meet with clients in the morning, afternoon and again the next day. So we had to spend the night there.

We stayed at Osaka Tokyu Rei Hotel.

Here's the entrance of my single room. Everything in this room was clean~

The basic bathroom and toilet unit. As you can see here, the toilet bowl is turned at and angle towards the bathtub and the bathtub's width is narrower where the basin is. This kind of configuration is common for smaller units.

My table with lots of papers on it!

There's even a handy phone which I will not use.

Quite convenient actually. It's the first time I've seen one and I can imagine how useful this would be for tourists and it will definitely safe them money too as they do not need to rent a portable wifi for their trip.

View from my room. Not bad actually....I can see the HEP Five ferris wheel from my room.

My room plan comes with a buffet breakfast in the morning which looks decent.

Later that night, I went for dinner with my colleague at Botejyu for some okonomiyaki and got treated since I was the kouhai~ Yay!

In return, I treated my senpai to Pablo cheese tart. I got the Pablo cheese pie as I've never seen it before. Had it later that night in my hotel room and it was surprisingly good! Will definitely grab one again next time.

While I thought that I was up early for breakfast, my colleague was already done when I was on the way in. The breakfast was really good as it had a wide selection.

As we had to check out in the morning and our meeting won't be till 2 in the afternoon, we went to the Afternoon tea cafe to work and grab some lunch. Here is my sandwich which was ok.

Before boarding the shinkansen, I bought this Kobe pudding to try as it was one of the souvenirs that had an award mark on it. So it must be good right?

Verdict: It's good but I don't think it is something that I will buy again as it is too sweet to my liking.
