Weekend in Yokohama

Weekend ramen at 丿貫 (へちかん) again.

The menu for that day.

I wish they would let us take away the dry noodles!

After that we went to Yokohama's Chinatown in search for desserts and found that there is a Yokohama Chocolate Factory and Museum there.

We ordered the chocolate dome and a chocolate tart to share.

We also ordered this hot chocolate tasting set which came with cacao from Ecuador, Brazil and Arriba. I definitely prefer the first two.

Later in the evening, we walked to Yamashita Park to have a look at the snow rose garden illumination there.

Lunch with an old friend

Lunch with an old friend whom I haven't met in a long time.

We first met in Malaysia and then bumped into each other at the embassy here years ago.

He brought me to a halal tempura don restaurant in Yurakucho and the place was popular as there was a queue outside when we arrived.

As you can see from the pictures, the portion is super huge and is good for those who are big eaters!

After that we went to a cafe nearby for some drinks so that we can catch up comfortably.

Later that night, I went to YH's friend's place for Xmas dinner. Look at the amount of food on the table!!! The 9 of us finished everything! The night ended with some songs and us sharing what we were thankful for in 2019.

Day out with YH

Met up with YH for some jewelery making time.

First, we met up for lunch at Afeliz (アフェリス).

Their set lunch comes with a salad bar.

We both ordered their grilled pork which was super delicious!!! And that sauce went super well with the mash potatoes.

At the end of the meal, we both had a creme brulee for dessert.

After lunch, we dropped by kiwa to stock up on some parts before heading to Tanagokoro Tearoom

We both ordered a different tea set which come with some really nice accompaniments, that came with a paper explaining what each item were. You get to stimulate your tastes buds with something spicy, sour, bitter, salty and sweet.

As we both ordered different teas, we were served a small tea cup filled with each other's tea, so that we can taste them.

This is the piece of paper explaining what was served with the tea. I think they change this every motnh.

I also ordered their special menu for the month which was featuring various petit items with charcoal powder added to them e.g. quciche, sandwich, macaron and cream puff.

Super love this place as we got to enjoy some really good tea and had a pretty nice and comfortable space for our hobby.

Random Dec lunches

Lunch with my colleague at a Korean restaurant nearby our office. I was so happy with the warm soup as it was really cold that day.

More curry lunches. My once a month routine~

I arrived a bit early for Japanese lesson and was starving, so I dropped by Soup stock for some delicious warm soup with focaccia bread.

Work day bento lunch. We had a formal training at the company and lunch was provided. We had this fancy fish bento box which was delicious. I call it fancy as it came with chestnuts!

Our badges to signify our beliefs. There are 2 very similar looking ones up there.

Another bento lunch day and I went with karaage bento box.

This was from near Christmas when my HR who is German, set up an entire table filled with German goodies for everyone. It was super nice of him to share these goodies that his mum sent him.

Tiring work day dinner

Tiring day after work as I ended late and was just too lazy to cook at home.

J happened to end at around the same time, so we decided to meet at a station nearby to grab dinner before heading home.

Ordered a salad as we were both not getting enough greens.

We ordered tan tan men and nagasaki chanpon as the weather was getting colder and it was nice to have something warm and soupy.

Overall the quality of food for dinner is on the average. I don't think I will return for dinner.

Work night dinner

We  found that there is a Sushi Ro that is somewhere in between both our offices and we decided to go there for dinner one night after both of us ended work late.

I'm so happy to be able to reward ourselves to some yummy food after a busy day.

Sadly, it is quite a distance from the station and we still need to take the train home again after dinner.

Sushi Ro, you need to build more franchises and one that is nearer to the station!

If you don't like raw seafood, there are many cook food there too, like these fried shrimps or tempura.

But I guess, it was a good thing that it is quite a distance from the station. As we tend to overeat, we get to burn some calories on the way home too.

Weekend outing

Weekend gym time again with Ono-san, my friendly colleague from the other team.

My weekends have become a lot more active and I'm super happy to be going to zumba lessons again.

After working out, we went to Omotesando to grab late lunch.

We went to Kumada (サーモン丼 熊だ), which I had visited with Moon previously.

I really like their seafood don and how we get to end it with an ochazuke.

We both ordered their most popular item on the menu, the 3 variety salmon don and added extra toppings to it.

We also ordered extra sashimi on the side.

We also get some extra marinated salmon for the ochazuke.

Whenever you are ready, just ask them for the hot soup!

After that, we went watch hunting and luckily, we did manage to find it after some hiccups.
