Day 1 home

1st day back home!

After showering, I had a bowl of home-made porridge for breakfast. I think this was my first porridge of the year. And it had abalone in it!

After that was lunch with Ursula and Sinbad. We went to Madam Kwan. Lol, again just cause I was missing Malaysian flavours. We even ordered a cendol to share.

As usual, we ordered they satay which was superb.

This is the first time we ordered this fried glass noodle dish with soft shell crab. It was good too.

After that we walked around for a bit as we waited for Tham and Jas to arrive so that we could have tea together.

Poor Jas just came immediately after work, without lunch and hence was super hungry.

We went to a hk cafe for some polo bun, egg tart and cheese tart.

Group pic~

After that, Jas was kind enough to drop me off at the Airbnb where we would be holding Amanda's  bridal shower.

The apartment has a loft style design. On that 1st floor is the living and dining area. This here is the bedroom at the loft.

We ordered dominos for dinner!

After dinner, we played some games and took a whole bunch of pictures.
Hopefully it was night to remember for the bride to be.

Sunway Pyramid

CNY deco was all out in Sunway Pyramid so Mum and I decided to go and check them out.

This year they had a beautiful Hakka Village at one of the concourse area.

The are was decorated with many traditional Hakka elements for guests to take pictures with.

They even had a section where you can wear a traditional shirt over yours for a picture at the traditional kitchen.

Later that day, met up with Moon for dinner at Sushi Zanmai.

Lol, getting my fav. soft shell crab roll again!

Salmon rolls that Moon ordered.

More sushi~ I really like how much mentai mayo sauce they put on top of the seared salmon. It gives it so much flavour.

They had this seasonal cheese roll and we decided to try it. Very flavourful and delicious. Definitely not something you'd find at an average sushi place in Japan. Lol~

Wefie with Moon~

Malaysian food

Met up with Amanda and David at Ten Years in Sunway Pyramid.

I walked past the shop and saw that they served fried assam laksa and decided to check this place out. But I ordered this tri-colour rice dish instead, which was absolutely delicious~!!!

David ordered the nasi kerabu while Amanda ordered the fried assam laksa. I stole a bite and it was delicious.

I also ordered an ice kacang which looks amazing in presentation but lacking in flavour. Definitely needed more gula melaka.

I just continued to hang in Pyramid so that I could catch up with Tham for a while before grabbing dinner with YL.

We went to Canton-i where we had veg soup and porridge.

Lol, super healthy dinner. The veg soup tasted a lot better than the porridge.

Day1 back

Arrived early morning at KLIA2.

And the first thing we did after my parents picked me up was to grab breakfast!

We went to Restaurant (Hong Kong) Taizi Dimsum, which was a relatively new shop in the area at that time.

I must say that they served really good dimsum. I hope that their quality didn't drop with time.

I also liked that the place was completely indoors and air conditioned.

All the food were yummy and I was just glad to have good dim sum after a long time.

In Japan, I can't believe that I had to queue 2 hours for a not so good Michelin star dim sum.

After freshening up at home, it's time for another meal.

This time I'm meeting up with my old lab mates at Sunway Pyramid.

I ordered some food to be shared.

The onion rings and pizza were surprisingly good.

After catching up, I went back home and waited for YL to come over after work so that we can all go for dinner together with J's family.

But before dinner, a roti boy~!!! Just because it smelled so good when I walked past it.

Madam Kwan, Sunway Pyramid

Dinner to catch up with the girls but sadly Jas couldn't be there to join us as she is away on a conference/holiday trip.

We're at Madam Kwan again. We were there the year before too. I noticed that Madam Kwan has come up with their own tapioca chips, which was delicious. They just place it on the table, if yuo open it, they will charge you for it but if not, no.

We tried the soft shell crab rojak which I think is a new item on their menu This is definitely a premium rojak because of the soft shell crabs and also, the price!!! But it was good as the soft shell crab was fried nicely and I never knew that it would go well with rojak sauce.

For our main dishes, we had the kuey teow which was super yummy!

Then we also had their fish noodles which were super yummy too\! Omg I was super glad that we went there. Even though the price might be high, but the taste was amazing! I highly recommend this dish!

The last time when we ordered the satay, all of us really enjoyed it, so we ordered it again this time. Again, the meat was well marinated and goes well with the peanut sauce.

Always wish that the sauce came in a bigger bowl!

For dessert, we had cnedol!

Lastly, a group picture with Madam Kwan.

Congratulations to Tham too who was then pregnant with her second child who is already born now. :D
