CHEMISTRY Cafe+Lab, Seksyen 7, Shah Alam

First time at CHEMISTRY Cafe+Lab

We obviously wanted to visit the place because of its concept!

Ordered the chocolate tart topped with salted caramel and a boston cheesecake.

Both were super good! Definitely worth a try!!!

Seawitch enjoyed the coffee there too~

I cannot remember what I ordered but this was recommended to me by the barista there and true to his words, it was good!

Lol, we were 2 science geeks at a pseudo chemistry lab.

As we were there on a Sat night, there was live music which I truly enjoyed! The 2 guy were super good!!!

Would love to return again on a Sat night to get some nice live music for free while I enjoy the chocolate tart!

Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul, Sunway Pyramid

I've walked past the Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul in Sunway Pyramid many times and there's usually a queue outside the shop. One day as I was walking past and realised that there was no queue, I quickly entered!

My bowl of chendul

I felt that it was just ok.....I prefer ice that's not so soft and carry a little crunch~

Also, the taste was just ok but the green colour chendol was a let down for me. I prefer thick gula melaka with chendol that's smooth and has a slightly thicker jelly texture to them that makes them go *toing*. Hence, I still prefer the one in Ipoh!

Watami, Paradigm Mall

Had dinner with the seawitch at Watami in Paradigm Mall.

Lol, since we both love japanese food, I think 7 out of the 10 times we meet, we would be having some sort of japanese food!

It's been years since I've been to Watami and hence, thought it would be great to re-visit the place.

My sushi and tempura gozen (RM49)

Seawitch ordered the sashimi moriawase and tempura gozen (RM49)

My sushi set tasted ok while the tempura was slightly oily.  However, seawitch was extremely happy with her hotate because they were very fresh and tasted amazing!

:( I want some super fresh hotate too!

Banana Leaf Rice at Sri Ganapathi Mess

Was flipping through my gallery and found these pics of my banana leaf rice session with Mish.

So now I'm sort of craving for one too....

It's funny how I never....or just rarely have banana leaf rice. The first time I ever tried it was with my colleagues like 5 years back. Then a second time with my dad's friend.

Somehow last year..... I've had banana leaf rice like 3 times!!!

Well, one reason was also because Mish wanted to have it.

So here's us at Sri Ganapathi Mess.

This was a huge improvement from our first outing where both of us were so sakai that we didn't know where to begin and how to order!!!

The fried squid was really good. Besides that, we also had some chicken curry and mutton~

Lol, our small portion of rice, which was of course not enough after you start eating!!! Their curry gravies were delicious too and did I mention that they serve crab rasam?!! Yummy~

I've liked this place ever since my lab mates brought me here and would recommend it to friends. But it's best to go there early to beat the lunch crowd. That way you get to sit comfortable and enjoy your meal~

Ramen Kagetsu Arashi & Tsujiri, Hankyuu Taipei + Saboten, Taoyuan airport

This post here will be the last one from my Taipei Trip.

Met up with XQ at night for dinner, but before that THIS!!!! I've been wanting to ride on these bikes ever since I saw them on my first night here~

Once again feeling to XQ who helped me with the U-bike

I feel like a small kid again.....

Loving the view, the weather and just the feeling of riding on a bike!

Was supposed to head to Shihlin night market as I've never been there but after looking at the huge selection available at the mall near Taipei City Hall.....I'm sold!

So for dinner, we had japanese at Ramen Kagetsu Arashi at Hankyuu department store (統一阪急百貨台北店).

XQ with the teppan fried rice kind of thing - Chinese chive and egg fried rice!

My "Ninniku Genkotsu Ramen" that was loaded with garlic!!!  Love it!

Even XQ approves of her fried rice!

After dinner, it was desserts time!

TSUJIRI!!!!!

Finally I had the opportunity to try Tsujiri and in Taipei! lol~

I went for their shaved ice selection and ordered the Signature uji- kintoki!

THE BEST MATCHA SHAVED ICE DESSERT I'VE EVER HAD!!! Step aside green tea bingsu, you are no match for this!!

The green tea flavour is strong! The red bean paste complements the taste of the green tea really well! There is truly nothing wrong with this dish, maybe except the shirotama as I'm not a fan of mochi-like things.

TSUJIRI, WHY YOU NO COME TO MALAYSIA?

If not, I can have you every day!

I love shaved ice and I love green tea~ <3

After desserts, it was time to exercise a bit......
......walked around and spotted this cute little creature! hehee....

Apparently this guy collects donation from passer-bys to care for these dogs.

Interesting looking lights surrounding the trees that look like wine glasses.

The next morning, I had the big breakfast at McD with XQ before heading off to the airport.

Had plenty of time to burn before my flight as I was there early, so I decided to get a nice lunch before boarding.

Had rosu-katsudon for lunch at Saboten Japanese Cutlet. Whilst Air Asia flies from terminal 1 of Taoyuan airport, one can easily take the free sky train from terminal 1 to terminal 2. Saboten is located on the 4th floor of terminal 2. :D

Spotted the check in area for Eva air! Soo cute!!! omg~ I wanna fly Eva air too the next time!

Antipodean, Bangsar

Went for breakfast with my lab mates in January at Antipodean in Bangsar. First visit, but I've been hearing a lot about the big breakfast from others so I was pretty excited.

This is the big breakfast that all of us ordered. It came with toast, sautéed mushrooms, hash brown, scrambled eggs and a choice of bacon or sausage.

I chose the bacon which was lovely! I also liked the toast as it was well buttered and toasted nicely. The mushrooms were good but the eggs and hash brown were slightly under seasoned. But I guess it works that way so that everyone gets to season it themselves to their liking. Also, I like the fact that the eggs were really fluffy~

This here is the big sausage with pork sausage instead of bacon.

The portion was relatively generous and my friends were all pretty full after the meal but for me it was just ok. We had this for brunch at 11+ am and I had breakfast at 7am.

So I bought a honey oat cookie to complete my meal. This cookie was recommended by the staff there and it was delicious~!

Overall, the food was good and it was great that you can get good breakfast food to feed your craves at any time of the day with their all-day breakfast.

Ma Maison, 1 Utama

Went for dinner with Dad one evening at Ma Maison, 1 Utama

I love this place and have been here several times but it's Dad's first experience. As Dad if not a fan of japanese cuisine, he was feeling a bit unsure, but I assured that that everything will be cooked and there will not be any raw food.

A ball of oroshi dressed with tamari dressing to refresh your palette.

Dad examining his food!

Ok, gotten his approval~

I love prawns so this is mine~

Dad's tonkatsu~

Dad truly enjoyed his tonkatsu and gave the thumbs up~ hehehe.....

After that was more japanese food, this time at Nana's for some green tea desserts~

Another excuse to get some green tea kanten slushy!!! kekeke.....mission to introduce Dad to more japanese food accomplished!

Din Tai Fung, Xinyi road

My second last day in Taipei and I thought that I'd take it slow and easy.

Left my rented room early in the morning to explore the nearby area.

As it was almost 10am, I quickly head towards original Din Tai Fung stall at Xinyi road.

There was already a queue when I arrived at 10.10am. I quickly joined the queue. The waitress gave me a menu and number. After 10 mins, I was in the restaurant on the second floor, waiting for my food!

I was seriously impressed by their service because the staffs there could speak several languages: english, mandarin, japanese and korean.

This here is my crab roe xiao long bao~! So good that I was lost for words!

Next up was the normal pork filling xiao long bao!

And lastly, gyouza! Another of my favourite! How could I not order this!

Super yummy as the bottom was fragrant and crunchy while the top was steamed nicely. The filling was really juicy too~! <3

keke...the queue when I left~

No regrets coming even though it was expensive, I love everything that I ordered~ but definitely come early if you plan to visit!

Chef Low's Organic Kitchen

This was from Peng and Eric's trip to KL.

As Mari is vegetarian, we had dinner together at Chef Low's organic kitchen at 10 Boulevard.

Curry noddles~
This was really flavourful!

Delicious yam basket

Hawaiian Pizza
Love the thin and crunchy crust with the thick layer of cheese on top! :D

Fruit tea~
Always enjoy the fruit tea here especially when it's warm

Stir-fried lotus root with pine nuts

This was pretty interesting, a strawberry and mango kebab. Seems like a dessert, but we had it together with all of our savoury dishes.

A seaweed maki roll drenched in sauce

I've been to Chef Low multiple times and the food is always good!

As with previous visits, the food was good and so was the ambience! It was also great that all my friends enjoyed the food there too~
