Happenings

As spring approaches, beautiful flowers started blooming everywhere. Here's one with my colleague and her amazing wig.

First time at Chidorigafuchi for night sakura.

Pretty~

I wanna be on that boat one day.

While the light up was pretty, many of the flowers have not bloomed yet.

Walked past Yasukuni shrine on the way to dinner.

First time walking by this area.

Dinner with the group at Saizeriya after yozakura.

Shizuoka Part 5

The next day, we went for brunch with N's mum who treated us to really good food at the fish market.

We went to a restaurant on the second floor of the fish market, near Shimizu station.

I ordered the sashimi set that came with a dish of tuna steak on the side.

The super fresh sashimi~!!!

As K doesn't take raw food, she got the a set with cooked tuna steak and minced meat patty.

The cute mother and daughter

Lol~ N's mum staring a K~

hahaha...

These 3 are sooo funny!

From the fish market, we can actually take a boat ride to the S-pulse dream plaza. But we had another place to Miho no Matsubara, which is renowned for it's seashore with beautiful green pine trees. So we took the boat ride there instead.

Shizuoka Part 4

For our trip to Shizuoka, we stayed at Suruga Kenkoland.

Highly recommended if you enjoy onsen. They have so many varieties inside their facility!

The hotel provides free bus rides to and from Shimizu station.

We arrive at the hotel just in time for dinner, so we headed to their main dining hall for some food before enjoying the onsen.

Here's what I ordered - sakura ebi~ Just can't get enough of it!

As I wasn't very hungry, a small fried rice to go with my sakura ebi.

After dinner, I went to the onsen and soaked for about 30 minutes. SUPER GOOD~!! I couldn't feel my muscle ache at all the next day after all the walking from Day 1!

Other than that, they have karaoke rooms, game centre, television room, massage chair room and many restaurants inside this hotel! Definitely a place where you can easily spend many hours just trying out the differently facilities available.

Lol.....as we were both low on cash and couldn't find an atm machine, this was how we got some extra change. We paid for all our expenses in the hotel with credit card, so no cash was required.

Outside the hotel as we waited for the bus. The friendly bus driver offered to take this pic for us.

Really wanna bring mum and dad here.

Shizuoka Part 3

We took the cable car down to Kunō-zan Tōshō-gū (久能山東照宮).

Ropeway ticket price

Decorations for girl's day at the station.

Lovers can place a lock here~

The cable car

While waiting for out cable car we spotted a cute cat sleeping under the sun.

In the cable car...

The view~

This is the original burial place of the first Shōgun of the Tokugawa Shogunate, Tokugawa Ieyasu. It is also the oldest of the Tōshō-gū shrines.

Taking a picture with the huge 'bucket' that they used to store water back in the days.

N had this miso konyaku which was supposed to be very good and a very popular dish there.

A collection of shots by K.

After visiting the shrine, we went down the other way, facing the sea.

We saw that there were many strawberry farms from above and were really excited to go strawberry picking at one of the farms.

Uneven stars down...huge thanks to my colleagues for helping me get down.

Unfortunately, all the farms that we went to rejected us, citing reasons such as they don't operate in the afternoon or that there are no more strawberries. As we saw that many of the farms had many strawberries, we figured that they probably cater to tour buses.

While we were about to give up, we spotted an unmanned hut with strawberries for sale. We bought this huge box of strawberries for just 700yen~! While they're very ripe strawberries that were supposed to be used to make jams, it was better and nothing!

The strawberries were actually not bad. Some were huge and there were sweet. We tried out best to finish everything but there were just too many!

The beautiful sea view that we enjoyed while tasting the strawberries.

This was definitely a great, fun and crazy experience.
