On the way from Namba to the Kaiyukan, we stopped by a shopping arcade at Kujo on the Chuo line.
More pachinko~
To get to the Osaka Aquarium/ Kaiyukan, we need to take the Midosuji line from Namba to Honmachi and then change to Chuo line to Osakako station.
Once you exit, this is what you will see.
Signs along the way...
Walked passed a bento shop and had to stop by to buy one too. The bentos are not prepacked and they only make it after you order them.
You can spot the Tempozan ferris wheel as you get nearer to the Kaiyukan.
Pretty bridal shop. Cuzzie is the mascot for nice buildings while I'm the mascot for food~ ^_^!!
The Kaiyukan from afar
The exterior.....look at the intricate design made of tiles.
This extension hangs those silver things to make the dolphins
hehee....cute little fishes~
Decided to eat facing the ocean, but the wind was too strong and cold that our bento became cold very quickly and the rice actually dried up!!! hahaa....and we had to prevent all the lighter things from being blown away by the wind.
So many things going on~
Such a nice view~ We weren't the only once picnicking out there in the strong wind. It seems there were others who like to eat facing the ocean too. :D
Really love the ocean view! Especially when the weather was soooo good!!!
The view behind
Walking through the tunnel~
Check this chart here for the animal feeding time.
First off, we have to take the escalator to the highest floor.
To the forest we go~ Not many pictures here because it was difficult to get a good shot of the animals. Also because my camera ran out of memory! hahaha.....
Moving on....we get to see these babies being fed.
Each will be fed by a different trainer. So it's sort of like a little show where they will be rewarded after performing some tricks.
Happy feet~
They're all not moving....just standing in position
I guess this little fella here is sleeping!
Dolphin~ swimming soo happily~
Australia's reef
There aren't many pictures because my camera memory ran out~ :(
Overall it was a nice experience as I've never been to an aquarium in a long time and such a big one too (I think the exhibits covers a total of 8 stories). However, I feel that it's one of those places that you will visit once and probably never revisit again hahaha.....
I love stingrays~
Hello there~
There's also a section dedicated to jelly fish~ but unfortunately, we didn't manage to snap nice pictures of them.
Great view~
The place is nice as and there are various exhibits of the different habitats around the world. Besides just looking at the exhibits, there is also a "hands on" area where one can touch star fishes/ sting rays/ sharks.
