whee.......another place we get to visit for free with the 2-day pass!!!
Met a really uncle on the way who led us to the zoo.
The zoo is pretty old but there are still a lot of locals visiting it, mostly family with kids or old people.
They have a lot of animals there.....if you have the time to fully explore the place, it's quite nice actually.
Nice bird park, where the birds are still enclosed but get to fly around freely.
Fully equipped with its own sakura tree inside and small river
There's even a mini waterfall there.
Pink flamingos.....
Gloria the hippo~ hehehe.....
Marty the lion giving me the smirk
The last few days have been freezing cold and on this day that we decided to visit the zoo, it was super warm!! We had to remove all our jackets and still feel warm......so we had ice cream!!!! :D
Beautiful flower! If only I can bring you home~
Cute syougakusei on a school trip~
Spotted a taiyaki shop!
Cousin trying taiyaki with red bean filling~
Take the stairs at the side of the zoo's entrance and this is the amazing view that you get!
Walk until the end and this is what you will find~ So pretty!!!!!
After visiting the zoo, we went to have some kushi katsu which is the specialty of Shinsekai area right next to the zoo. Almost every single shop serves this.......Just enter which ever one has the boldest design that attracts you! I think they all taste pretty much the same!
Here's the menu~
The inside of the restaurant with one of the boldest designs outside!
Japanese style sitting~
Our first few sticks came and I couldn't wait to try it~
Take one and dip it into the sauce, then savour it!!! No double dipping allowed!!!!
I absolutely love the hotate but even vegetables taste good!
You can just keep on ordering if you feel that it's not enough! They will fry them fresh for you. So be careful, some of them are really HOT!!!
The outside of the restaurant~!!! Look at it~ don't you just wanna walk in and try out their food?
This is billiken is a charm doll designed by an American, but somehow it is really big in this area, especially in the Shinsekai area and you will see it EVERYWHERE! Some say that you can touch its feet for good luck.
More kushi katsu shops~
Next, we are headed to Tsutenkaku Tower~!!! It was once the tallest building in Asia when it was first built.
More bold designs!
Pachinko!
I love all these restaurants~
Finally at the base of the tower!
This is erm.....the icon of the tower~ hahaha.....
On the way towards the top, you will pass by all this. Strategically located because everyone will have to queue past them and some kids will probably ask their parents if they can buy one!
I'm loving the new Glico Pocky ads~
Finally at the top and what a great view~
Shinsekai at the bottom~
Hello Kitty corner! which could be found at every tourist spot~
:)
