NEWS is 4

Ever since Yamapi and Ryo's departure from NEWS, I haven't really been catching up with them except watching their latest PV's.

Was really upset with Pi and Ryo's decision initially but I'm ok now.

Pi knew from the beginning that his path would not be easy as he would be starting once he leave NEWS but  I will always be supporting him.

As for Ryo, can't blame him for wanting to focus more on K8's activities. Plus as one from Kansai, I think he feels a need to work hard for the Kansai Jrs as well. We all know that K8 was the last group from Kansai that debuted and that was 9 years ago. Johnny really needs to debut another Kansai group.....their jrs have been working really hard.

Last night was the first time I've seen footages from their NEWS live tour 2012 美しい恋にするよ. NEWS with 6 members was my favourite Jpop group ever and for years, I've been wanting to watch them live.

Cried while watching their performance of "Share". This is because Share was written by the 6-member NEWS and it was sort of like a new start for them after their short hiatus. The song talked about how 6 strangers who came together and became friends, their friendship and their existence with the fans.

This Share performance is definitely one of my favourite. Massu totally teared up at the part where he was supposed to sing about how they all came together to produce this stage and to thank everyone. Even Shige teared up. Tego was amazing because thanks to him, the song was able to be performed nicely. He was able to maintain his composure. I must've hit that replay button for at least 10X because I love the performance so much.

An original song for the 4-member NEWS - "Fullswing"

This is my favourite new song by them. Just the name of the song itself seems soooo positive. It's like, yes we will go in full swing from now on and give our best for everything that we do in the future!!

hehe....another emotional performance. One that you will cry every single time you watch it, no matter how many time you have watched it before. I guess it is understandable as NEWS had been through so many hardships. From 9->8->6->4. NEWS couldn't have much activities together as  a group because the members either work separately or are too busy.

Pi for example had sooo many dramas plus his own solo activities. Then there's Ryo who also have K8 activities and when he's with one group, he's halting the activities of the other group. Then Tegomas was born and they too have separate activities.

Ok, maybe that performance didn't really do NEWS or the song justice. So here's another live version where you can hear everyone's voices clearly.

For me, NEWS is truly 4 and they're perfect this way now. I would love to attend their concert in future too if I have the chance.

Koyama + Shige + Tegoshi + Massu = NEWS<3

Menya Musashi Samurai Ramen

Had a little gathering with my uni pals at Menya Musashi Samurai Ramen in 1U.

Heard that the place was good......

This is what we ordered.....coincidentally, we all decided to have the kuro soup based ramen, just with different toppings.

Here's mine~ oh, how fattening but good!!

Look at the dark coloured broth!

Top it up with some garlic or curry powder to add oomph to the taste!

Yum! yum! I really love ramen with a good soup base!

KLCC

Poor blogspot, I've totally neglected you for the past 2 months, posting only half-hearted posts every no and then.

I've been very busy this year, especially after CNY, preparing for my proposal defense. Then even after the defense, I had to do some write up. Even up till a week before I go for my holiday, I'm still worrying about the new semester which starts tomorrow......*screams*....trying to 1) settle some undergraduate practical trial runs 2) trying to pry on when the first lab session for the subjects that I'm involved in starts. I don't want them to clash with my holiday *praying hard*. 3) Trying to find a way to contact new lecturers teaching the subjects who are.....well, not in campus yet.

So well, yea I'm praying really hard that everything gets resolved within the next 3 days so that I can fully enjoy my break!

And when I return, it will be work, work, work and more work again! hahaha......

Bottom are some pics from a Taiwanese restaurant in KLCC. The food is quite good, would definitely return there again.

Typical taiwanese restaurant style dishes:

Minced meat noodles

Yummy 3 cup chicken, thought I'm personally not a fan of basil

Delicious steam fish that comes in a lovely sauce

They all came as a set with rice, 3 appetisers and a soup.

Arisan

There's this little shop in my uni that sells Taiwanese styled fried chicken. While they're famous for their different flavoured fried chicken, my favourite is this fried potato covered with plum powder??? Well, not sure what it is, but the sweetness of the potato matches well with the slight sour taste of the powder.

Manhattan fish market

Manhattan Fish Market has some really good deals for students. All you have to do is just flash your student cards~

Mushroom soup. Considering the price, it's reasonably good.

It even comes with a drink of your choice.

Manhattan Baked Fish~ Full of garlic flavour.....yum~

Full House

Haven't been to full house for more than a year and was quite shocked to see that they have had some changes in their menu.....more korean-ish now.

Here is the pumpkin soup.....yum~ love pumpkin!!

Mushroom soup~

Only one main course picture here......We actually ordered 2 different chicken dish, one with thyme and the other with masala or something....but they both looked the same, so only 1 pic is sufficient.

Overall, the meal was quite disappointing as I felt that their standards have dropped from my last visit there.

2013 CNY reunion dinner

All dishes cooked by mummy~ I only helped to eat.....hehehe

This dish of prawn here gets a solo pic because they were all the size of my palm except for the lost little one on the bottom left. So happy.....these flew from Brunei! Yummy huge and fresh prawns!!! MY <3

The rest of the dishes for the night except for 1) the fish because it was served only later during dinner, 2) the lou sang which arrived only after we finished dinner and 3) the birds nest for dessert!!

A plate of stir-fried mixed veges, stir-fried tomato sauced prawn, nyonya style chicken, braised mushroom+cucumber+pork leg+fatt choi, braised vegetarian dish, beancurd meat roll and fish maw+abalone+pork stomach pepper soup. All these dishes or should I say ingredients have meanings and are supposed to bring good luck, fortune and prosperity for the new year!

Had so much good food these few days for CNY! I think I sorta tortured my stomach by eating so much~ hahaha......
