Food I've been mising

First meal back home and it's bah kut teh~!!!

It feels really good to taste this again after 10 months! It's such a hearty comfort food! <3

A familiar sight~

First day back home and I'm already craving for all the delicious tropical fruits that I've been missing out on in Japan. The amount of fruits I eat in a month in Malaysia is equivalent to what I've had in 10 months in Japan.

Salted-egg crab which mummy tapao-ed for me~ :D
Another thing which I missed a lot! I love crabs and you just can't get this easily in Tokyo....

Then of course, I miss mummy's home cooked food! All of which I cannot replicate in Tokyo.
This here is fried dumplings with my favourite shrimp in them! <3
Home-cooked food is the BEST!!! :D

Balik Kampung via Narita Airport

121116 - Balik Kamung~

Arrived at the airport early and had loads of time left before boarding so I stopped by at a takoyaki shop for dinner.

Cute Xmas deco at that time.

It was interesting to note the Malaysia banners around the airport, especially since I'm flying back after 10 months in Tokyo.

I wonder if Malaysia is a very popular holiday destination for Japanese as it seems like there were more banners for Malaysia, than other countries.

MAS~

It was a night flight. Once up in the air, I got served refreshments.

My washoku dinner was so-so.....I should try the western meal the next time.

This is my breakfast at about 3am. The served either onigiri or sandwich. Since I have had lots of onigiri in Japan, I picked sandwich.

Shiodome Caretta

I was near Shimbashi one night and decided to go to Shiodome Caretta to check out the illumination by myself.

While I was there alone, I still enjoyed the illumination.

There were many people there, especially couples....on the left side of this picture queuing up to get a picture by the bell.

The bell was situated in front of this white/pink Xmas tree. Couple would ring the bell and pose for a picture, I don't think it is free though. I saw a queue for tickets inside.

Soo pretty~ It feels like the lights lightened up my heart too~ :D

Roppongi Illumination & スギモト

Dinner again at Sugimoto (お肉の専門店 スギモト) in Roppongi with Kheng.

Cute Xmas tree with many Santas on it~

Two shot~

Really enjoyed the illumination. If only it wasn't that cold that day.....it wasn't just the cold temperature but the wind was super strong too!!! It was soo cold to the point that it's painful on the skin!

Love the view of Tokyo Tower~

One can never get tired of this view

Finally had a good look at this illumintion. It wa raining the last time I was here and hence, I didn't really get to enjoy the view.

Eating Japan - Frozen food series 2

1. Aeon Corn Kernels

I absolutely love these because they're super convenient. I add them to my fried rice and to my macaroni, as weird as that sounds.

The corns are sweet on their own and does not require any seasoning.

2. Nichirei Prawn Pilaf

While this is convenient for days when I'm lazy to cook, I didn't enjoy the taste. So I won't be buying this again.

3. Nichirei Pumpkin Gratin

This is sooooo good~

I love the pumpkin flavoured sauce and the pieces of pumpkin in this~! So delicious~!!!

4. Soup gyoza

This once comes with soup so you don't have to prepare your own. While it's good, I prefer the pan fried ones.

5. Osaka Osho gyoza

Delicious~ This is the most amazing pack I've tried yet!

Why?
That's because it doesn't require any water or oil, and you still get the wings~

6. Meiji Quattro formaggi

These frozen pizzas are super good for lazy nights, especially when it's cold. You don't have to worry about the toaster oven heating up your room and you get a quick, hot meal.

While the flavour for this is food, I prefer thinner crust ones.

7. Nichirei Margherita Pizza

Another good and classic flavour. You can never go wrong with Margherita flavour.

Shibuya 鳥貴族 & 青の洞窟

Went for dinner with Kheng at 鳥貴族 (torikizoku) whereby every item on the menu costs 280 yen.

Our orange casis drinks and the daikon salad.

Edamame

Chicken kamameshi which was simple and delicious

Fried chicken which was not very good

yakitori~ which were of course delicious

My favourite kuromitsu kinako ice cream~

After dinner, we went to check out 青の洞窟 (Ao no dokutsu).

It was beautiful~

I love the blue lights but it made me feel super cold~

I'm not sure if they have this every year. They have already taken down the lights on 9th of Jan.

It is always nice to catch up with an old friend~

Nagasaki gotouchi sakaba at Nihombashi

Walked out from Bellesalle Nihombashi to this cute illumination.

It's my mission to snap a pic of pretty Xmas trees~

Met up with some friends for dinner that day and we went to a gotouchi sakaba from Nagasaki.

ご当地酒場長崎県五島列島小値賀町

Nagasaki paripari salad 790 yen

Yummy crunchy salad~

A very special and interesting looking lemonade bottle, 490 yen. Luckily, it's not just looks and tastes good.

Ojika akahamachanpon 890 yen

Doesn't this look like a Malaysian dish? hahaha.....it was sooo good! I like that it was slightly spicy. and that it's packed with veg an seafood! I will definitely be back for this!

Goukai kaisen sara udon 790yen

This too reminds me of a chinese dish in Malaysia. Packed with seafood and veg......super good! I think the next time I miss Malaysian food, I'll just come here! hahaha

No kidding, I was seriously super happy when I first saw and tasted the chanpon!

It's a nice place too as they have small rooms if you want a little, private space to chit-chat while enjoying food with your friends.
