Dim Sum buffet at China Town

It's been 2 years since I had dim sum buffet at China Town.

I actually like this shop better than the last because I get to order stir-fried vegetables other than just dim sums.

The stir-fried veg is the best!

The dim sum was ok.

The fried items were a little too oily.

This tou miao was yummy and definitely cheaper than ordering it as a dish in a Chinese restaurant.

As it was CNY, after lunch, we managed to catch some lion dance and performances in China Town.

I guess it is kinda nice to be here on CNY.

It's the only place where you can get some CNY feel in Japan.

After all the walking, we stopped by Sait Marc for some chocolate croissant and hot chocolate before heading back home.

Can't believe that this is only the second time I'm having them here in Japan. They're sooo good~

CNY

Met up with J early in the morning in Shibuya to take a morning walk to Shinjuku. Along the way, we got distracted by this promotion campaign by Mug&Pot, where we got to try some tea and were given free samples too.

At Shinjuku, we met up with YH and grabbed lunch with her at a Mexican restaurant.

As I love prawns, I ordered their lunch plate which came with prawns and the bottom one is J's order.

After lunch, we went to watch a movie - The Greatest Showman. It was an amazing movie and I really enjoyed it. At night we grabbed dinner with CK at a korean bbq restaurant to celebrate CNY.

Nian san shi

CNY is not a public holiday here but I got the day before CNY off from work to go to the tax office.

After that, I even had time to drop by Luce for some delicious cakes~!!! I've been missing their cakes for quite some time! As strawberries were in season, the pastries with strawberries were amazing!

At night, I met up with YH for shabu-shabu dinner as it is CNY after all.

I found this place that served pork only shabu-shabu which was good for YH.

The pork served was good too. I like that they come in a big platter.

We only had 3 platters for the night.

Overall, the food was good and this place is good for people who don't take beef so I guess I will be back again.

Day out with K

Grabbed lunch with K at a family lunch buffet restaurant.

I seriously think she has secret agenda to try all the family buffet restaurants in Yokohama! Lol~

But who can blame her when the prices are sooo reasonable at less than 2000 yen for most shops.

I've seen this place before in magazines but seeing it for myself was nice!

Would love to be back one day for a pic!

At night, we went to grab dinner a Hard Rock Cafe! It was my first time at a Hard Rock Cafe and I was excited.

However, I was still full from lunch so I could only order onion rings while K had this amazing platter.

Day in Asakusa & Ueno

First time trying out an even organised by TYO at the Asakusa tourist information centre.

I must say I was impressed as the event that I joined which was a Japanese dance event was well organised. Best part of all, it was completely free. A perfect way for tourist to get first hand experience of traditional japanese culture. They should definitely organise more of these kinds of events!

After that, I went to Asakusa temple with K and got myself a Daikichi omikuji!!! :D

As we walked around the temple grounds, we also spotted a show by a very talented and smart monkey.

These pears are seriously huge and I'm always super tempted to buy them but every time I spot them, I'm on the way to do something which will last the whole day.

We walked all the way from Asakusa to Ueno to grab dinner.

After that, we wanted to get some yakiniku for dinner but ended up at this super expensive place which we only ordered these 2 plates before deciding that we need to change restaurants.

We then went to the nearby grilled seafood place.

First time trying kani miso and I really like it. It was super flavourful and filled with umami!

Lol, K can never not order fried chicken!

This item here was a huge surprise. Who knew that a seafood place would serve yummylicious onion rings?

We also ordered this squid to be grilled and it was absolutely delicious!!! 

I would definitely love to be back to have more grilled seafood!

Ehoumaki and fine dining weekend

Second year having ehoumaki! 

This time I had it twice and prayed really hard for my wish to come true~ Lol

During the weekend, Mish and I went for another round of "fine" dining!

Love this place and the food served!

I absolutely love the pie pastry on this dish!!!

As usual, we always order the full lunch course which comes with 2 appetizers, 2 mains and 2 desserts.

The lunch course usually comes with a pasta dish to fill our tummy up.

I love fish and this was one yummy grilled fish dish!

Grilled pork dish was yummy, but it would be better without that huge layer of fat on top.

I absolutely love this dessert here. It's probably one of my favourite from this place because it has cookie bits which tastes like oreo, a brownie and ice cream!!!!

Lastly, some sweet little pastries to go with our tea.
