Sushi dinner

Grabbed dinner at the nearest sushi shop near our house....

We each ordered a platter of sushi. The chef was nice enough to change whichever fish we do not eat to another one. I opted for an additional ebi.

This grilled seafood here is super yummy! I've loved it since the first time I tried it.

Love eggs and love how the chef cut this up! I was super amazed and analysed the egg for a long time. No, they're not individual triangular pieces. The pieces are connected.

Service from the chef! He gave us some of these colourful tomatoes! Super lucky!!!! It's the first time I've had orange and green coloured tomatoes that tastes sweet!

Yummy Japanese home-cooked food

Back here again a year later.....at Heather's host mum's house.

Once again, she cooked us a lovely lunch that consists of yummy oden and yakiniki!

Look at how pretty she arranged the meat!

I always get such a homey feeling when I visit. And of course, nothing beats home cooked food.

Love visiting here. Look at the amazing view from their dining table~ a bamboo garden just right in front!

Her host mum said that sometimes people would film movies there too.

Other than the bamboo trees, they also have a lovely garden with lots of veg. That's where we plucked some veg before the lunch. There are also some chestnut trees and these are the chestnuts from the trees!

Look at how big they are. Super yummy~!!!

Choshimaru, Musashi-kosugi

When Heather was here, we went for lunch with the U group. Always thankful to T san who treats us to a good meal every time we meet~!

This time we met at Shibuya Mark City and had lunch at a udon/soba shop!

For dinner, we met up with ST san and had dinner at Choshimaru.

The sushi here are good. Other than sushi, I also enjoyed the green tea creme brulee!!! Soo good that I actually ordered two!

While the price here is higher than a typical kaiten sushi, it's worth it for the quality of the seafood. I mean look at how thick the hotate are!

I would definitely love to be back for more~ :)

権八 西麻布 Gonpachi Nishiazabu

Heather brought me to this restaurant called 権八 西麻布 (Gonpachi) at Nishiazabu for dinner.

This restaurant apparently provided the inspiration for a Kill Bill movie scene.

Ordered a salad to be shared.

This place is apparently famous for soba...so I had to order the tempura soba. The soba is good. The size is uneven because they made it.

Heather had the oyakodon.

Saw this braised belly on the menu and I had to get this. No regrets because it was super yummy and flavourful

After dinner, we went to Roppongi Midtown for the illumination.

Such a lovely dating spot~

heehee....back here again.

Apparently, they've changed the theme for the dome to planets.

The view from the other side was amazing too. Highly recommend you to walk around this centre piece.

Tadao Ando Endeavors 2017

First time at the National Art Centre at Roppongi.

The building itself looks amazing fro the outside!

I was there for the Tadao Ando Endeavours 2017 and there was a super long queue outside!

Since I was there early, I decided to queue for the tickets first.

The inside of the National Art Centre.

Naturally I'm not allowed to take pictures of his works but this here....the replica of his famous Church of Light, you are allowed to take as many pictures as you like!

Overall, it was a nice experience but I didn't like the fact that it was super crowded! There was hardly any space to squeeze in to see the exhibits in the first section. There were just too many people there! As with other museum, this one here seems like a popular dating spot too.

The exterior of the building at night. Beautiful~

Akasakahikawa Shrine (赤坂氷川神社)

Was supposed to meet Heather at Roppongi on this day and I decided to arrive early to visit a shrine nearby.

On the way there, I passed by this pet shop and found these cute little puppies~

After that, I stopped by the garden behind Roppongi Midtown.

It was a nice small little garden.

My first time at Akasakahikawa Shrine (赤坂氷川神社).

There was wedding procession going on when I was there.

Hence, I had to wait for their photo shoot to be over before I can pray.

First time seeing this kind of omikuji which is based on your animal sign.

While on my way to find Heather, I walked past this interesting looking Mercedes car that has a huge gift box on top.

Kyu-Furukawa Gardens (旧古河庭園)

After visiting Rikugien Gardens, we decided to visit Kyu Furukawa Gardens which was just nearby.

The nearest station for both gardens is Komagome station.

This garden here is absolutely beautiful.

There are lesser people here!

And the garden is super beautiful too~!

I definitely will revisit again!

The japanese style garden

Even the fallen leaves look beautiful~

When we were there, we were lucky enough to see various roses in their garden.

The roses have very interesting names and beautiful colours.

Unfortunately, it was already late when we were there so the cafe was already closed.

After that, we went back to Shibuya for dinner. Got some monjayaki for dinner. Nom nom~ I discovered that it was the same restaurant that I visited back in 2016! What a small world! And this fried fresh pasta on top makes such a yummy and crunchy snack!
