Tachibanajima Island & TATSUMIYA 京・宇治 抹茶料理 辰巳屋

After Byodoin, we walked over to Tachibanajima Island.

It was around 10.30am in the morning and hence, the area was still pretty empty except for a few other groups.

Look at how peaceful and serene the place looks.

We were walking around, trying to kill time, as we waited for a nearby restaurant to open.

We had planned to grab lunch at TATSUMIYA 京・宇治 抹茶料理 辰巳屋, which opens at 11am.

I ordered the Kyoto style lunch box (3000 yen).

It was served like this, wrapped in bamboo skin.

There are more than 25 different kinds of seasonal items here.

J ordered the 特別松花堂 (5000 yen), which is presented on a plate/

As J's one is a course meal, there were other items like a soup dish, tempura and chawan mushi too.

Everything served was meticulously prepared. The presentation was pretty and the taste didn't disappoint too.

The prawn tempura went really well with the green tea salt!

At the end of the meal. we were also served some green tea desserts.

We were happy that we got to try Kyoto cuisine while here.
It might be good to make a reservation beforehand. As we didn't make a reservation, we went there arrived before they opened to try to get a seat and we did get a counter seat.
