Arakawa To-den

Early in the morning, we went to grab some Nagasaki chanpon and udon for breakfast.

After that, we grabbed lunch at Yayoi-ken.

Mummy and daddy happy to be exploring a different side of Tokyo.

It's great to have someone help us take a proper family pic~

The ponds and lakes always look super green during summer.

The one day pass that gives you unlimited rides on the Arakawa To-den. Totally worth it as it costs only 400 yen.

The other side of the ticket looks like this. You need to scratch the date and show it to the train conductor every time you board.

This is such a beautiful place.

It's nice that on the day that we visited, there was a guy playing a traditional Japanese musical instrument there too to add on to the feel of the place.

Children playing in the water to try to escape the hot summer heat.

So pretty~

We also went up a free observatory in the area and got a different view of the city from the one before.

On the ground floor of the tower, there were sections set up for people to fold paper cranes and I decided to try and fold one too. Luckily, I succeeded.

Soo pretty~

Mum and dad pose with an old steam locomotive.

Dad pretending to be the conductor.

After that, we dropped by a takoyaki place for some snack. It was the first time I tried akashiyaki (明石焼き) which is a small round dumpling made of an egg-rich batter and octopus. You dip them into dashi before eating and it was soooo good!

Walked past an interesting shop that sells red undies~ ahahaha

Before we end the night, we grabbed dinner at Domannaka (どまん中 高田馬場).

川エビ唐揚げ480 yen (Prices are before tax)

串盛り8本1,480 yen

だし巻き玉子500 yen

ポテトサラダ480 yen

手羽先唐揚げ620 yen

実家製つくね560 yen

鶏ラーメン880 yen

Overall, the food is good. I'm glad that my parents got to try izakaya food here~! <3

Parents in Tokyo Day 1

Picked up mummy and daddy from the airport and we went for lunch at Tenya. Super happy that both mum and dad enjoyed the lunch.

After lunch, we headed to Ebisu.

We enjoyed the beautiful view of the city.

Wefie~ heehee

Trying to get a full body pic of the 3 of us.

Mum and dad looking at the view.

The famous background for wedding photos.

Spotted some pretty flowers there....

....and Mum loves it too~

heehee~

Not sure what this flower is but it looks nice.

Next, we visited the Yebisu beer museum.

Doing touristy things~

heehee....ordering some drinks for daddy and mummy

They approved of the good drinks served there.

On our way back, we decided to go buy some fruits and we spotted this cute watermelon.

This super expensive muscat here is the one that we bought!

Yes, the price is crazy and it's totally a once in a lifetime thing. But it was totally worth it~ :D

It's the best muscat or grape I've ever tried. It's sweet, the flesh is juicy and crunchy! The skin is thin. Once you've tried this, you can never go back to normal grapes.
