Malaysian cuisine

First time grabbing lunch at Malay Asian Cuisine in Shibuya on a weekday.

I was really surprised to see that they have started selling chilli sauce. I couldn't help myself and bought one on the spot! Since they're sold in glass bottles, it's hard to bring them form Malaysia. So even if it is slightly more expensive, it's much more convenient to get them from here.

Their set lunch are really worth it. It comes with a salad bar. The best thing about this salad bar is the red onions which is very rare in Japan.

We ordered the curry laksa and fried rice. Both were super yummy~ I will definitely be back if I'm there on a weekday again.

After walking around for a bit, we got hungry again and decided to grab early dinner at this shop called SUJU Indigo (酢重 Indigo) in Shibuya stream (渋谷ストリーム).

I spotted this interesting looking curry soba on their menu and decided to give it a try. Not a good choice.

While the curry is definitely South East Asian style and taste good, it just doesn't go well with soba which has a strong buckwheat flavour on it's own. Plus, their soba is on the thick side and slightly harder than aldente. Not a good combination.

We also tried their green tea cake for dessert, It was slightly dry but tastes good with the cream.

I think it's best to stick to Japanese flavours for soba.
