Kyoto Trip Part 1

Kyoto trip day!

We had planned this trip before COVID-19 happened and decided to carry on with this trip at the end of Feb.

First time being at Kyoto station, not for work, but for fun!

Kyoto Station itself is a pretty interesting building. Remember to come out and got all the way up to the roof top to enjoy the nice views from the station.

Kyoto Tower is just directly opposite the station. This view is super familiar as it is what I see when I wait for the taxi, every time I come to Kyoto for work.

More pictures from the roof top.

As it was super early in the morning when we arrived, the place was still pretty empty.

This little area in the middle here is like an area for Weddings.

Overall, the architecture of the building is pretty interesting and has a lot of wide open spaces.

As it was still early, we decided to Sir Thomas LIPTON Porta Shop (リプトン ポルタ店) for some cakes before we go to our hostel.

Cakes here looks super good. I walked past once before, saw that they served cakes and have always wanted to try since. The taste didn't disappoint.

This place is super packed and all the seats are super close together. I think it will be better if the seats are less close together, especially during this season.
