Afternoon Tea at ソマーハウス(Somer House), The Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu

Sakura hunting again today~

We arrived at Sakurahicho to check out the Sakura here and to have afternoon tea.

Along the way from the station to the hotel, there were fully bloomed sakura trees.

There were also many people enjoying a picnic in the parks by the bay. The weather that day was also perfect for a picnic!

We went for afternoon tea at Somer House, The Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu.

We specifically came here because of their limited time only SAKURA afternoon tea which was priced at 4,000 yen. For an additional 500 yen, we could order an original cake too.

My favourite part about this afternoon tea is that you get to try different teas while there. They do not limit you to just one flavour. So after you have finished your cup of tea, you can order a new cup of a different flavour.

For the normal tea, they serve it to you in a tea cup, while ones with tea leaf will be served in a pot.

The view from where we were seated was amazing!

Look at the beautiful tea cups! The tea are good on their own and does not require any additional sugar. I tried the sakura! sakura! tea, somerhouse blend, muscat and spring jasmine which were all yummy.

Look at this beauty here!!! :D

Here we have some sandwiches, broad beans with bamboo quiche, prawn and avocado sandwich and pickles. The sandwiches are chicken genovese, chocolate cream with strawberry and olive paste with carrots.

For scones, we have the cherry blossom and plain scones. Absolutely love the scones because they break nicely in the centre and they had nice baked flavour to them. There is also a small platter of seasonal fruits.

On this plate, we have the strawberry roll cake, sakura and almond panna cotta, sakura and matcha cream puff, pistachio macaron, tart and cookies.

The pistachio macaron was lovely and so was the tart. I wasn't a fan of the sakura and almond panna cotta and was unsure on whether I should eat the blossom. I thought that the roll cake was pretty normal. But in general, everything was good and went well with tea.

We added an additional 500 yen for an original cake. They brought us a platter of cakes to choose from and we decided to go with this chocolate raspberry one.

This is how if looks like on the inside. The inside has a pretty strong liquor which might not be suitable for those do not like the bitterness that comes with it.

Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here. While it is very expensive, everything that was served to us was delicious!
